As AMERICANS...how come we don't care
if we're supporting the CHINA ECONOMY
when we (I personally haven't stepped foot
in any "China-Mart" for at least 5 yrs) so when
you shop to get all your useless junk at Wal-Mart
don't you feel bad that your not buying Made In USA
products?
What happened to MADE IN AMERICA PRIDE?
(I would think Republicans would cry about this
issue seeing how they claim they are TRUE Patroits)

that's the problem with America. i know what your saying. we should start to make our own factories and build our own products. then we can truly be an independent nation. That is what our founding fathers wanted. But people will still buy product simple because its cheap. have you noticed that Wal-mart is cheaper that target or shop-ko or any other store. that is what Americans want... things that are cheap so people will continue to shop there. I am not a Wal-mart (china-mart) citizen and neither are my friends. but it is out-of-my-hands, i can't control other people. But people buy from their because they are cheap and not everyone can afford higher prices.

I am a LIBERAL and I love wal mart. Everything is so cheap because it is made in china. As a scientist who has felt the effects of the dot-com bubble bursting and the shifting of federal funding for basic science to post-9/11 concerns, I can't afford to shop anywhere else.

In order to justify buying American, American companies should just make better products that can't be replicated by a room full of chinese seamstresses working for $4/day. It's that simple.

I was in China last year, and people there are discovering capitalism to the extreme - opportunities are starting to open up there for jobs that AREN'T in sweatshops or begging in the streets and the people there will make better products simply because they don't want to live in a urine-drenched hutong. They want what we would consider modest success very badly. As badly as an American who has spend 2 years looking for a job that finally found a position.

That being said there is also an issue with reputation - people believe that a Toyota is a much better car than a Ford, and would never contemplate buying a Ford because of their bad experiences with their vehicles. Recently Ford has done a great deal to make their cars much more competitive with Toyota, but it takes time for people who have fixed opinions of a brand to change their perception.

Because manufacturers of all kinds want cheap labor. Plain and simple. It has nothing to do with Democrats OR Republicans, and it's been going on for a lot longer than 5 years. Fortunatley, I was recently lucky enough to be able to buy a product made in Mexico from a nearby Staples. Not even close to being made in the USA, but it's still better than buying it from one made in Red China.

Because of unrealistic Union demands, many US businesses have had to shut down. Read the current news about the Ford Motor Company. Union members are still be paid their salaries even though they are not working. This makes Ford charge more for its vehicles and they are losing their consumer base. While they used to sell almost 50 % of cars in the US, now they sell just over 20% and the numbers are shrinking. If this trend continues, Ford may have to put the "Closed" sign at their production plants.

Wal-Mart has high quality control standards. They are one of the biggest employers in the country. Their stores are clean, well stocked and they offer reasonable prices. Any business can try to copy this success story if they want to do so.

first of all you're an idiot if you make the assupmtion that democrats shop at walmart and many of them don't. I don't. I think it's disgusting, the way they treat the sweat shop workers in china like slaves. If I was forced to go to wasl mart, I wouldn't buy products manufactured by wal mart. and second of all, wal mart isn't the ONLY company that uses outsourcing, so do some research before you start throwing **** at walmart for something almost all manufaturers do.

75% of all percentages are made up on the spot.

Walmart carries American products as well as those from other countries. They are an American company and support American families by selling a variety of products. They offer selection for Americans to choose from.

I offer this to you, check some common items in your house...I bet your TV is foreign, your shoes...made in mexico, that COMPUTER...nope sorry, made in China... The reason we have become powerful is not because we were isolationists, its because we worked together with other countries to become great.

Because it's a little word called cheap, the prices are great. I'm not going to pay full price just because it has a "made in china" logo on the back sorry, but I need to save as much cash a possible.

I think most people shop at Walmart for the grocery prices. I've noticed that's where the crowds are. That stuff isn't made in China, pal.

Because "Americans" can't/won't see the big picture and only care about saving a few bucks. Not only are they "supporting China", but they are putting "Americans" out of work and putting small companies out of business.

Wal-Mart.....distroying the USA one supercenter at a time.
