There's been a lot of speculation here about why US politics is so divided, and why conservatives see politics in such a starkly different way than progressives. Could it be that conservatives are more likely to accept the established authority's account of what's happening and their policies, compared to progressives that question the rationale and premises of the leaders?

To me this is an ethics question and statement.

I see this quite a bit from members of a club, they either keep quiet about things that bother them then complain in private but never do anything about the problems or, some say something about the issues at hand and they then become the "bad guy"!

It doesn't matter what issues regarding this question and statement, the point I am trying to make here is this, do YOU "let it be" more often than not or do YOU step up and say something more often than not.

I have learned to "pick my battles" after getting burned by the group for standing up for what I believe. Personally, the only time I speak up now is for the flora and fauna on our land since it and they don't have a voice with which to speak. Even this has peoples panties in a bunch!

A.P. says illegal immigration costs strain national parks! "Drug smugglers fleeing mexican police, crossed into the desert park, and FATALLY shot a ranger four years ago, prompting officials to build a 30 mile vehicle barrier". While this stops most cars from speeding in from mexico, drug and human smugglers have switched to rural entryways into Az." "Thousands of illegals cross on foot, leaving behind piles of trash, they build fires, damaging the parks famous cacti, and create countless trails through the desert vegetation." "Since 2001,the park service has received $35 million dollars for new homeland security responsibilities for national icons such as the park. "They also received a one-time payment $91 million dollars for national icons, and,the cost of the barrier for organ pipe was $18 million! A WASTE of money that could have been used for better purposes,of not for all the ILLEGALS!

I'm at a crack house that is being held up. I know of a gun that the crack whore keeps under her bed. It's not registered and has been used in numerous crimes. I get the gun and shoot the robber dead. This happens in Chicago where handguns are illegal. What are my chances of seeing the light of day again or do the cops just say, go and sin no more?

If you have, do you see any attempt to question some of the basic premises of how the administration explained the tragic events of that day? The very title of the report presumes who's responsible without even examining all the evidence. Again, you can do a google search on the 40+ anamolies that remain unexplained and ignored.

The report can be found at http://www.9-11commission.gov/report/911Report.pdf .

I've always been a staunch christian republican, but I'm seriously considering changing parties. There are just too many stories of inside corruption without any accountability. Damn, the FBI admits that it won't investigate itself when it has credible evidence of internal corruption. Bush is actively violating the constitution. Bush and the republican controlled congress are pushing the national debt to $9 trillion, an unimaginable figure. My tax dollars are being doled out to inside connected corporations for a pittance in return. Our troops are being slaughtered and maimed by the 10s of thousands in the desert sand. And so on...

Any other republicans feel the way I do?
