I think that they definately should get the life term. And I think that they should be made eunichs in extreme cases involving children. (In the event that it isn't a case of an 18 yo with a 16 yo statutory rape case). Real offenders should not be given a chance to repeat it either on the streets or behind bars. I'm stunned that so many actually walk the streets to do it again, yet other criminals with lesser crimes get more time.

Considering that you can be considered a rapist for having sex with an underage girl your ideas seem a bit harsh. Also keep in mind, a child molester can be somebody who did nothing worse than paw a dressed child (bad as this is, it isn't a killing offense).
You obviously think "an eye for an eye..." is just not strong enough. Adding a bit of torture into the punishment just makes it revenge and not justice. What if the same principle was applied to all crimes? You could forget about a lawful society then.
Well, I guess everyone loathes rapists and child molesters, but even so you have to keep things in perspective - even rapists and child molesters come in various forms, and not all of them deserve to be put away for the rest of their lives.
I believe that you have to look at the individuals in question, and the kidnappers, rapists of children and murderers should be locked away forever, but not all of them fall into that category.

:-D LOL T'aint a sweetypie attitude but I agree with the sentiment. Personally, I don't think there's any rehabilitation possible for childmolesters. If they're made well, disgust over what they've done will cause madness and suicide. So, cut out the "middleman". Or, in more charitable moods, put em in for life without parole. (meaning, Never gets out) The other inmate's will learn what they did, and give them a firsthand account of what it's like.

I agree with you and have thought about this before. There should be either life in prison or castration.
BUT, there is one problem: rape is an act of power and control that a lot of these brutal rapist use other things to commit the crime with. You know what I mean... I don't want to be too graphic because it makes me sick.
The pt is that castration or your suggestion won't hinder their being able to commit that crime especially when it is a mental disorder and not a 'sex thing'.

The line for rape is to grey to declare an absolute. Since rape can cover "I didn't know she was sixteen" and "I was just as drunk as her," I'd be hesitant to declare life sentences, without a clarification and limitation of the offense. I'd also hesitate to lump rape in with molesting, as the urge to rape has been proven to decrease over time, unlike molesters.

You know what they do in third world countries. You steal, they cut your hands off. You molest a child, your penis cut off/vagina sewn up. They shouldn't surgically remove, they should just get some scissors and snip, snip. No need to be clean about it.

You people are merciless, you probably consider that killing these people would be some service to god, or society. But any killing no matter how justified is murder! Its easy for you to say such things, but imagine being the freind, realitive or mother of this person. No matter how evil the act, it would help anything to counter it with an evil more evil act...

Well I hate to go against the grain here but it is scientifically proven that many child molestors have some sort of brain defect so I think that your suggested punishment is probably too harsh.
