I've always been a staunch christian republican, but I'm seriously considering changing parties. There are just too many stories of inside corruption without any accountability. Damn, the FBI admits that it won't investigate itself when it has credible evidence of internal corruption. Bush is actively violating the constitution. Bush and the republican controlled congress are pushing the national debt to $9 trillion, an unimaginable figure. My tax dollars are being doled out to inside connected corporations for a pittance in return. Our troops are being slaughtered and maimed by the 10s of thousands in the desert sand. And so on...
Any other republicans feel the way I do?

To netjr: the latest figures are over 2500 US soldiers dead, and over 12,000 permanently maimed. Over 18,000 total wounded.
Just do a google search on the data.

Im a Republican myself and there are moments when I do feel tempted to either go Independent or switch to either the Constitution Party (called Taxpayers party in some states) or American Party.
I prolly agree with the Constitution and American Parties more than the GOP but I definetly agree with the GOP more than the Democrats.
Besides that the Michigan GOP is a whole lot better than Republican National Committee anyways which is a good thing (the Republican Cadidate for Governor has criticized DC Republicans and Democrats which made some who did not already know Dick DeVos is Republican question if he was 3rd party or not).
While I have been tempted to bolt from the GOP, I refuse to do so considering what I still find the GOP good for not to mention it is important we keep the Democrats from taking over this Country by any means necessary.
However if an Anti-Illegal Immigration party did form out of Anti-Illegal Immigration Republicans and it had a chance of Strength, I would probably join it.

And you honestly feel the Democrats would make it better? The party that wants to keep the Dept. of Justice from searching its elected leaders offices - by the way we pay for those offices.
The debt is bad but with out tax increases they took in $170 billion more due to growth this year. The Democrats would look at that as $85 billion for more spending and $85 billion for more spending. (not a joke and you know it).
I'd totally disagree with you that GW has violated the constitution. If he had there would be charges levied against him not political rhetoric by hateful democrats. The same democrats that would prefer we lose in Iraq just so they could win an election.
If you really think we're losing 10's of thousands in the desert I can't help you. You are not thinking straight and looking at the facts. Compare this conflict with any other in American History and you will see it to be the success that it is.

Well if you think flag burning and invading countries are more important than improving education and health care in the UNIT STATES OF AMERICA, vote Republican. 2,500 dead U.S. soldiers, over 20,000 injured, and close to half a TRILLION dollars on Iraq....is it worth it? Bush's pipedream to bring democracy to Iraq will never happen just like Vietnam. It's deja vu all over again. Let's start worrying about America first. Iraq was not going to attack us. Osama??? Who's that? Who attacked us on 9/11? It wasn't Iraq!

No. As bad the Republicans seem right now, the Democrats are definitely much worse. I hope you will analyze each candidate based on what they stand for and not on political party when you vote.

If I ever did switch, it would be to the Libertarians. I believe in social equality, but I don't want to pay for it. I do, however, have no problem donating MY OWN money and time to non-profit charities. It is not the governments job to provide ever aspect of living to its citizens, only protection and the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I am glad that you are at least thinking it over. Do not let anyone influence you into what direction you need to go. The best thing is to follow your heart and mind, and whatever makes the most sense go with. However I will warn you no one is strictly Conservative or Liberal everyone has their certain issues.

You don't have to switch parties, though if you do you get much much love. Just get the Bush team outta office, then you can switch back when they're are real republican options..

And go from bad to much worse? No thanks! (just for the record, how is the constitution being violated? And corruption? If you think that Democrats are any less corrupt, you're in for rude awakening)
