My dad usually put my pets outside until night ( 1 chinchilla 3 hamsters) and one day i was in my room playing my video games and practicing guitar my mom left and told me it was gonna rain so get all the stuff from the backyard into the house with help from brother and grandpa. My hamsters cages are on the chinchilla's cage.I took in the hamsters cages first then the chinchilla but when i looked in the cage she wasn't in her little purple house or behind her wheel. The cage was a little open but it was too small for her to get out of their .(the bottom part) How could she get out ?I'm crying like crazy. My grandma said when she used to live in Kirghistan she had a chinchilla that ran away and came back with a girl and 4 little baby's.We have a big yard so she could get lost in there. We put her on the porch though. Is their a chance my chinchilla could come back?It is harvest time in my backyard and their is a lot of food and my grandma says it will come back before winter.

I'll make a list lol.

-How much Timothy Hay should I be giving her? Should there always be some in her cage? Or do I give like a handful a day to her?

-How much fruits/veggies does she need? I've been putting a few things in there once a day. Is that right?

-Can a guinea pig get too much Vitamin C? We have Vitamin C drops in her water, and in her fruits and vegetables (duh). Can she get TOO MUCH Vitamin C?

-About how long do you think it'll take her to adapt to me and her new surroundings? I bought her August 6th.

Thank you! And please have some experience with piggies. List your sources please.

I bought a pair of russian dwarf hamsters a few hours ago, named Toffee and Treacle. Their cage as tubes in it, and when I put the hamsters in, I put in some stuff for bedding. But now the hamsters are asleep together in the tubes, and have ignored the bedding. I dont have anything for a bedroom yet for them, is this the problem? Which bedrooms/house would you suggest for them? I need something available in the UK.

I've written a persuasive essay and told them I'll pay for the whole thing. When I was younger we had rodents but it never worked out, but I"m older now and way more responsible. The last time we had rodents was like 3 years ago! I really want a hamster! How can I convince my parents I can get one?

One day, while I spent the night at my friends house, my little sister(5) went into my room to play with my gerbils. She is NEVER allowed to play with them. By the way, this happened like almost a year ago. I had bought my gerbils a hamster ball, which they hated :-(. lol. And it came with a stand so I could put it in their tank. It was in there and it was plastic. My gerbils chew on everything, and they had chewed on the stand, so it was jagged. One of my gerbils, Nibbles, was under the ball, which is fine, when my sis went in to play with them. She didn't want him under there, so she grabbed the tip of his tail and pulled him out. She also started to pull him up in the air. And then he fell back into the cage. But guess what, she was still holding on to about an inch and a half of his tail. She told mom that she cut off my gerbil's tail, and she didn't even use a scissors. I think she was traumatized...jk. Someone said that gerbils can do that, but is that true? Is it for protection?

i have £39.00 which is enough for an average size cage and two hamsters.

i know how to look after a hamster as i have had 2 before when i was younger.

the best reason my parents could come up with was "because i said so"

I adopted two rats from a pet store in April and they seemed relatively healthy. The white one, however, was sneezing and I suspected it had mycoplasma. On Thursday she seemed a bit lethargic but still active. When I checked on her on Saturday (I was out of town for one day) she was dead. The brown rat, still seemed somewhat active but depressed. She has also been sneezing. My question is, I know it's bad to introduce a new rat if the brown one also has mycoplasma but she seems so sad without her friend and it breaks my heart to see her like that. What should I do? Should I just spend more time with her? Thanks!
