Hello everybody. I am hoping there is somebody here that knows a lot about turtles and can help me with my situation.

I have two red eared sliders (both about 5 years old). They continue to get bigger and bigger each time I buy a bigger tank. I now have a 50 gallon and they are out growing it and I am having a hard time cleaning the tank and taking good care of them like I know they deserve. Basically, I want to let them go. I don't have a problem finding them a home, but what I want to know is: would this be healthy for them? To leave their only home? Should they stay together wherever they go? And lastly, I live by a big swamp and I was thinking of leaving them there. There is is plently of water, dry spots, grass, the whole shabang. But there are also other animals like snakes and such. Would it be okay for me to leave them there? Even though winter is coming up. Will they die?

I need help! I could give them to somebody who will keep both of them but something tells me they will be happier out in nature.

we have him in a 10 gallon tank with rocks sand and we have an upside down frisbee filled with water for the water source. We thought he ate the first earthworm we put in there...but we found the worm hiding a couple days later. Yesterday I noticed that he was trying to eat the rocks in the sand...so we put a mealworm next to him and he still wont eat it...he wont even eat the pellets. I dont know how he is still alive!!

my red ear slider is getting bigger and i need to find a better basking area for him. I read reviews about the floating turtles docks that have suction cups but they said the product isn't good if you have a big turtle. what do you guys use as a basking area for your turtle?

and also does anyone know of Semi-submersible water filters, because most of the filters i have seen , have to be fully submerisble in the water and our tank isn't tall enough to fill up water all the water, the turtle wont have a basking area

I also have three others that I bought from the same place on the same day and they live in the same aquarium, everything identical. They are doing wonderfully! I just got them about 1 week ago.

I know all snakes have teeth, and from what I have been able to gather nonvenomous snakes have sharp teeth, but do they have a row or any flat teeth at all?

He flopped his tounge out on him, then pulled him closer, then used his webbed arms to pull him right into his mouth!

Then i saw a frog eat a newt. The newt secreted poison while getting eaten whole, and after a minute the frog dies and the newt walks out of the frogs dead mouth!

This was all just on National Geograhic Channel.

Im thinking about getting a snake and I have found that breeding mice are cheaper then buying a frozen mouse at the store. But my only question is- How are the mice killed? Are they put into the freezer alive or what?

My 14 year old son took on the task of taking care of an iguana named Iggy. He has since lost interest in him. I have decided that since I like Iggy that I would take care of him. He is still young, but I am concerned with his color. he is a dark green, almost brown. I was told that there were 2 types of light that he needed, but I am concerned with the heat in the tank. Any information on feeding, and care are needed, and greatly appreciated. Thanks, Driver
