I used to have a chinese water dragon. I still have the cage, with half water half land. Its a very good tank, with a pump, and everything. What would be a good snake/lizard to get that could live in this tank.

If possible, are there any good snake/lizards that don't stink up your house, and are easy to take care of, and will not bite.

I know its alot to ask for, but i hope someone knows.

Every time I clean my turtle's tank, it becomes hideously dirty within three days. There is tons of nasty brown stuff all over the bottom, and floating around. I believe some of it is feces, some skin, and who knows what other weird stuff it is! I know I can't stop how often it goes to the bathroom, but what can I do to help keep it clean? And when it does get dirty how should I clean it?

The turtle is still only about 1&1/2 in diameter, will the mess get a lot worse as it gets bigger?

I mean, I don't know what to do with it. I certainly don't want it and all it wants to do is sniff its own farts while licking its butt. It does wag its tail when Rush Limbaugh or Satan comes on the telly on South Park, though, so it must have a home with somebody like that. Any idea what to do with it? I have a date tonight, and the garbage disposal is beginning to look like my best option.

Have to go. It's "cleaning out" the cat's sandbox again.

I brought home a male red-eared slider and unfortunately, due to the circumstances, I was unprepared. I immediately bought a 29 gallon tank (not ideal, but it will have to do until early next year after I move), an underwater heater and a floating thermometer. Right now he is in there with some stacked bricks for basking and about 10" of water (much better than his previous abode in a 10 gallon tank!!!) I'm borrowing a heat lamp. I've ordered some products from petsmart (free shipping special right now)! My original plan was to set up a 'basking' platform in the light at one end and another platform at the other end that is 'private'...but now I'm concerned that might take up too much space-I want him to have lots of swimming room. Should I just make his basking spot his 'hideaway' as well? Can his hideaway be under water? I'd love to hear what you have done, especially with limited space such as a 30 gallon tank.

I have been reading several websites about RES care and am recieving conflicting information about what to feed them. Some say it is ok to catch wild bugs (worms, crickets) as long as they are not exposed to chemicals, while another says no because of parasites. One site says commercial food should only be 25% of the diet while another says it should be the main staple. One says feeder fish from a pet store are fine on occasion (but never indicates how often) while another says no to certain feeder fish (such as goldfish). One website says 'no' to shrimp while commercial pellets contain shrimp. How much and how often should I feed the turtle? Will feeding him as much as he can eat in 15 minutes (in a separate tub) once a day be too much? I think he is still pretty young....he's about 6" long. I got him from a coworker who got him at a pet store and she was going to release him into the wild. I couldn't let that happen, so I brought him home, but I am unprepared. I have pellots for now.

I don't want to give live food to a pet, can anyone tell me how breeders of snake food treat the animals?
I'm certain there aren't any herbivorous snakes.

things in my anole's aquarium. They look like really tiny...I mean tiny rice. I don't think they are eggs. They layed a couple about a month or two ago and it was only one at a time and they looked like snake eggs but ALOT smaller. I don't know what this is. It isn't bacteria. I know what that looks like. It appeared today. It wasn't there this morning but it was when I came home after work. Does anyone now exactly what it is before I go and call the vet tomorrow...and yes I know to call the vet so if that is all you are going to tell me...its a waste of your time.

His shell is shedding huge chunks. I dont think that he's supposed to shed this much. Is there something I can give him or do to fix this? Do I need to take him to a vet?
