I have several snakes and lizards and wouldn't trade them for anything. They are fascinating and a lot of fun. But try to stay away from the bigger snakes like the red tail boa, burmese and retic. pythons they are beautiful snakes but tend to get too big for pets and people have to get rid of them. I mean think about it, how will you get rid of a 15 foot or more snake when you can no longer feed them and house them properly? I would suggest a carpet, or ball pythons because they dont get to be too big to handle and really calm, low maintenance pets. Also corn, and milk snakes are another possibility as a pet.

I currently own a 5 foot 10 year old ball python. She is simple and trustworthy. In the past i have owned about 15 other types of snakes at some point. I am too busy to care for more than one now. Plus i have an Iguana, two dogs and a cat...... I love them all...
Once you have your snake set up properly they are easy to care for.

I have 4 I don't feel any different living with a snake than living without one. My snakes aren't dangerous. I handle them every day and give them fresh water. Feed them once a week and clean up after them. They're great pets.

I breed boa constrictors, ball pythons, and corn snakes....so I have MANY pet snakes. It really depends on you. I find it very rewarding to have snakes. I enjoy watching them and interacting with them. I love that there is always something to learn about them, and I love that each one of them has a unique personallity. If you decide to get one, do your research before you get it......it will make the experience more rewarding for you and your pet....

I have a columbian red tailed boa and in my opinion, along with my family, it is the best pet I've ever had. beautiful creature and hes really sweet he hasn't bitten me as long as I've had him and unlike other pets he only needs to be fed once a week and he makes no noise and doesn't bother me unlike my cat who's constantly at my feet tripping me.

Yes. They are quiet, not very demanding and won't cost too much on food. They each come with their own personality and can be a lot of fun.
