What rattlesnake bit itself? Wierd. I wouldn't recommend it, although rattlesnake meat is pretty yummy. I would worry that something else was wrong with the snake.

Absolutely. There's no problem with eating the meat as your stomach's acids will digest the venom with no adverse effect to you.
