how do I know if my tortoise is feeding?

I found him along a river bank in India (west).It may be about 1 to 11/2 yrs old. but he does not eat anything I give. I gave egg yolk/shell, leaves of spinach,coriander,cabbage,etc.

Wild-caught turtles often do not eat at first, and that is not really a big deal as long as they are drinking, defecating, etc. Keep it warm and give it some warm soaks to encourage defecation.

You can often get them to eat by offering some red or orange fruits- melon, berries, red-dyed bananas, etc.

Give him a measured amount of food. He may need some meat -- ground beef or pork. Vegetables are good, and make sure too that he is warm enough. He needs to have a heat lamp, a dry spot, and access to water. If he does not have all of those things, he may not feel well.
