A snake can only strike half the length of it's body.When a snake strikes it pulls it's body back and has to distribute it's weight that is off the ground,so for a snake to strike it's full body length it would have to rare back on the end of it's tail.If someone has seen this let me know I would love to see it.Peace

A snake can only strike when its head moves back so the front part of its body is shaped like an S, usually its only about the part of the body thats curled like an S.

it depends on the length of the snake, but they usualy dont over extend themselves.. unless they realy wanted to get at it
