I recently bought a house with a nice big fenced in yard, I would like my dog to be active and go on walks and runs with me, I don't want a dog that sheds too much, I would like my dog to be a good guard dog and good with children. This dog would go to parks with me and camping as well (cold and hot weather)!

My colt won't let me pick up his back hooves or his front hooves. If i go to pick up his front hooves he will crowd me against our barn and back up and jerk the rope to get away. When i go to touch his back hooves he will kick at me and crowd me. Now he is where if you go to his or any reason at all he will crowd you. What do i do?????

An animal that is calm, friendly, doesn't fight too much with it's own kind, and is sociable with it's own kind? It can be a wild or domesticated animal. Please answer quickly. Thanks to everybody!

I sleep on my side and hold a pillow, one sleeps on that pillow against my chest, one I call her the butt snuggler (right behind my knees), and the last, well she is out of luck most times, she sleeps were nobody growls at her. (all dogs)

It's weird! In the summer if I go down by the pond and there are frogs about, you can see the look of FEAR in their eyes. They freeze and won't take their eyes of me because they are terrified, and understandably so considering I'm about 1,000,000 times bigger (!)

But then, if I go to feed my baby guppies in my aquarium (and they are literally all babies now since I moved the adults on) they are completely trusting, relaxed and calm! And bear in mind these things are about the size of the tip of my fingernail!

So this doesn't make sense! How come some things are naturally afraid or see you as a predator, yet other equally (if not more) tiny creatures aren't worried about you at all?

My rabbit found the plastic of the top of one of my cigarette packs. He started eating it for some odd reason. I chased him all over trying to get it from him. I thought he was going to choke on it but he didn't. But he did eat it. Now i am a little worried. Should i take him to the vet?

I have purchases two beautiful 12 and 13 y/o mares, and put them in a field with a 2y/o paint stallion. He wants to play and chase them but one of the mares turns and tries to kick or bite him if he gets too close to her or the other mare. I know he is try to claim his dominance , but the one bay mare is just tougher. I work with all of them daily and spend time and grooming evenly with all three horses but will they ever get along? They have been together for a week now. Also the two mares are broke and gentle when riding. The paint has had a saddle on about 5 times and never has tried to buck or misbehave, but acts skittish and scared at times, which I would expect him to do. If all taken and ridden together do you think he would calm down seeing the other horses not skittish, or do you think that they would all act up being they can't get along right now. I hate to haul them to the mountain and have to load up and go home. Thanks

According to the law in Johnson County Texas, your horse's registration papers are NOT proof of ownership. You have to have a bill of sale. We took two horses for a huge training bill that the owner did not want to pay. He gave us the papers and we put them in our name. And gave him a paid in full receipt .Two months later, he files theft charges on us saying we stole the horses and forged his name on the transfers. The sheriff's office say we have to turn them over to this guy and sue him for the bill. I have contacted our lawyer, but they are coming after the horse's tonight. Any thoughts on what to do to stop them? The sheriff's office is no help.

I want to get pet rats but the only place I could keep them would be my bedroom. My mum says that they will have a bad effect on my asthma. Is this true, and if true, what could be done to minimise the effect?

Do you think they should stay in the wild? Is it cruel to take them away from their natural environment?
Or Is it a good thing to keep them as pets to protect them in your care, away from the predators or danger that they would encounter in the wild?
After all at least as a pet they would always have food, rather than go without as they would have to in the wild if they couldn't hunt or find any.
And as a pet they would get that extra something - love.
What are your views?
