How can I get my parents to let me have a hamster. She wants me to get a bird but I really want something that I can pretty much cuddle with! Please help and serious answers!! : o )

1. you can't "cuddle" with hamsters, they have to be trained to do that, and they bite every time you pick them up, and they're solitary.

2. gerbils are better, they are friendly, sociable, and aren't mean.

about the parents thing, just make a slideshow, includin good facts, plus showing you are responsible. that's what i did to get my gerbils.

Hamsters really aren't all that cuddly. They pee on you when you hold them and I've never known a hamster to just sit on someones lap and enjoy being pet.
I think birds are a lot more cuddly personally, they cuddle and groom each other and often enjoy being pet by humans (but not always).

If you really want a hamster, then tell your parents that you want a hamster! It would make no sense for them to get you a pet that you didn't want! Oh parents.

you can cuddle a bird. my female budgie used to nap with me during the day while my husband was at work. most breeds of bird will want to be with you if they are properly socialized. now that i have said that if you really want the hamster (or any rodent) tell your mom that they can learn tricks. i have taught all of the rodents that i have had to fetch certain things. there is less clean up with a rodent if you use an aquarium or plastic cage instead of a cage with bars.

Tell you parents you want a pet you can cuddle up with and bond with and a bird you can't really do, and jus feed them all that stuff, like, i'll feed it and clean it out, things like that.
