Yeah, go buy a copy of the Standard of Perfection from the the American Rabbit Breeders Association. That will tell you what your rabbit should look like.

For actually showing it, you basically take it to the fair, keep it brushed out, and carry it up to a judging table when your breed and class is called. The judge will look at the rabbit and place it. If it doesn't place first he will send it back once it is place. If it wins the class, he will probably move it to a cage in the back to keep it around for picking the best of variety or best of breed. If it wins best of breed, you'll probably have to bring it back up later to compete for Best 4 Class or Best 6 Class.

The judge looks for the correct body type, the correct markings (if the breed has markings), the correct color shade, how it poses or runs on the table (depending on the breed), the flesh condition (is it fat or is the muscle hard), the shape of the head, etc.
