Please don't abuse animals. They can't tell you to stop. They can't speak. They just have to be abused. And another thing we shouldn't abuse animals because they were here before us. Please don't abuse them. What do you guys think on the topic?

I have two friends who are twins and they have tons of pets and are obsessed with breeding and have no reason for it. It's their parents fault becasue their parents have lots of money and are impulsive. They have:3 dogs, 3 cats, over 12 rats, over 10 birds and about four fishtanks one of which is a masive reef aquarium. They also recently bought a massive catscratch and a 2m high bird cage. They don't have any more time and space than anyone else, just money. They live in an average sized house with a pool with no fence around it and they have no lawn in the backgarden and in the front the grass is dead and covered in weeds and full of prickles. They are still planning on breeding their rats and selling them and breeding their birds. They also want to put in a massive aviary in the back of their yard with lots more birds , a pond and some ducks. All their pets are crazy and nopt trained yet they keep buying more. Their dogs do not get walked at all and the dogs and cats just walk over..

All the other horses out there are all clean around their eyes but my mare always has a trail coming from her's.

Could she have an eye infection or something similar?

Is it worth hauling her to the vet for?

Thanks

I mean, everyone from CNN to Fox to the History channel are capitalizing on it!

Even Discovery Channel, and Animal Planet, his home channels, are doing a special starring his young daughter!

Don't get me wrong - the man was a pioneer in animal rights, but the commercialism of it all bothers me.

My daughter got a hermit crab yesterday from WalMart. They don't sell extra shells there. I was told that I could go to another city about an hour away to purchase shells, but the man that sold us the crab said we shouldn't need one for awhile. I was going to go this week to get some shells, but I just went into my daughters room and the crab is hanging onto the slits at the top of the little aquarium that we bought him and he's without his shell. Anybody know what I should do or if this is okay?

My Hamster died today. She was a great little Hammy...very gentle, very smart for a hammy. I have had four other hamsters in the last 10 years, but never one that felt so much like a family member. Yes, it sounds odd, but the little guy really worked its way in to the family. Now, I think I need to fill the void....I need a new pet..I am not sure I should get another hamster, since Its life span is only 2-3 years. I do not know if I am ready to commit to a dog yet... so Any ideas?

I think they are absolutely adorable but everyone I tell I want a ferret to talks like they are so gross. Any ferret owners? Can they be paper or litter trained? Would my dog or cat get along with them? etc.

thanks!

I posted a question asking which would make a better pet between mouse, rat, gerbil, or hampster, but now I want to expand on it. Which of these would be better: mouse, gerbil, guinea pig, rat, chinchilla, or snake? Please include positives and negatives in your answers thanks!
