I mean how would you like to have something keeping you from making noise on your mouth. it's crule

muzzles are not meant for barking they are meant for biting...yes it would be cruel to use it as a no barking method!!!

Depends on the situation, if the dog is just barking all the time then yes it would be crule because that is not what a muzzle is ment for. If your dog has a habbit of bitting then no a muzzle would not be crule because you don't want your dog to bite someone and then you loose your dog.

Not cruel in some cases. Some have to be muzzled when you go to the vet. Some have to be muzzled when being trained in some certain areas.
But to leave a muzzle on a dog at all times. In my opinion
very much so. If a dog is trained right why do you need a muzzle. I have a small red male mini pin. And they are very protective and known to get very excited around strangers and i have worked with mine and now he is very docile around company more.

No. Some dogs need a muzzle...and vets use them as well. This is mainly for dogs that dont get along with others. Their owners dont want fights to start so they muzzle their dog when they are out for a walk. Vets use muzzles to keep them from being bitten by a frightened dog.
They dont use muzzles to stop a dog from barking... if used in that way then it is for training purposes. You need to do research.
Its not cruel.

In what circumstance are you talking about ? is it a biting dog ? then no it would not be cruel. If it is being used as a method for teaching the dog not to bark then yes it is cruel . Dogs are going to be dogs,they bark . You should train the dog to know when it is acceptable to bark and when it is not . therefore it has to do with training the dog effectively . Only if the dog is a good dog i think its cruel. It's very reasonable if the dog bites though.

In a social situation, some dogs need them. As far as I go, I wish someone could have done that for me in many instances.

yes . how would you feel if someone tied your mouth? but if the dog is biting very often , then there is no other way out . but make sure it is spacious and comfortable .
