Animals don't care if you're vegetarian or not. Trust me, all my animals *love* me and I am a carnivore if I ever saw one! lol. To animals, you are always going to be a predator that has potential for eating them, whether you eat meat or not.
To truly help animals, work on becoming an animal behaviorist or something. It's pretty obvious that you love animals, and that's a wonderful thing :-). Also, maybe talk to your parents about adopting a new cat or something every 7 months. Then giving it to someone once it's healthy and fully trained. You could probably save a few cats that way. There are tons of possibilities out there, just do something more effective than deprive your body of the nutrients it needs.

Good luck!

Vegetarians help animals
Vegans actually hurt some becuase of the extreme nature of it.
at 13 you need MILK and eggs for your body - select FREE RANGE eggs- if people stopped eating eggs and drinking milk the majority of chickens would be killed as why would we keep them? dairy cows would also be killed - as why would we feed millions of animals who cannot survive in the wild?

EDUCATE - spaying and neutering will greatly reduce animal suffering.. there are IDIOTS on here who talk about their cats haveing litter after litter after litter.. sure thats fine but with 2 million animals being killed becuase there are not enough homes all those kittens just add to the numbers

lots of dog owners breed simply becuase they can - with no consideration as to the genetic integrity of their dogs.

you can volunteer at your local shelter - but mostly spread the word to spay and neuter

* DONT BUY COTTON OR SYNTHETICS - a whole SEA has been destroyed to produce cotton (the Aral Sea) millions of fish died... and synthetics are made in an environmentally unfriendly way
- GOOD to wear WOOL - infact if more people wore wool sheep would be more valuable alive than dead (for meat)!

buy used when ever possible (if you want to wear cotton buy it used- as used stuff ISNT raping the planet.

Obviously FUR is bad - however wearing leather isnt... since it is other wise a throw away waste from cattle, thus is is environmentally friendly

dont eat chicken - if you are going to eat meat - eat beef - eat SMALL portions - the key is that one dead cow feeds ALOT more people than 1 dead chicken so its less suffering...

DONT be too extreme - the extremists like PETA are given little credit

DONT feed IAMS PET FOOD (www.iamscruelty.com) its a Peta site - but its true

A very simple (and FREE for you) thing you can do is to go to the Animal Rescue site on the internet every day and click on the box that says "Feed the Animals". The sponsors of that site donate food for animals based on how many people visit the site and click each day. You can also click on a "Save the Rainforest" site that way, and of course that will help save certain endangered animals as well.
