My dog, Monty, who is a little over a year and a half has in the past few months, starting in March or April become increasingly aggressive. He was always very well socialized, taken to the dog park several times a week, taken to the pet store, had my friends come over and visit, took a puppy class to socialize with other puppies, everything we could to make sure he'd be a socialized, friendly dog. He used to be a very sweet dog, but now he barks angrily at strangers and at the dog park will go off on a dog for no real reason. We can't take him to the park anymore because he is frightening due to his size. We got a new puppy in the middle of May, but this was after his aggression began, the puppy and Monty get along fine, but Monty is still very aggressive. Last week at the dog park he bit a puppy (didn't pierce the skin), but for no reason at all. He sometimes will get along with the dog or person then after a few seconds go off on a barking tangent. Can this be changed?

My vet is not completely sure what is wrong with my Siberian Husky, but she has mentioned Addisons disease. She has ran alot of blood tests and they came back showing low calcium and high potassium. She gave me calcium tablets and antibiotics. She also gave him a shot of steroids. She said that if he "crashes" again like what he did that caused me to take him in, then it is highly possible that he has Addisons disease. I am not quite sure I understood what this disease is. Anyone had experience with it?

I have a huski and was wondering what do you think is a good dog food for him? I want a dry dog food not a canned one for him. He is about I guess sixty five pounds right now. Do you think that is a good weight for him too? Thanks!

We are currently look for a dog, but unsure what breed to get. My mom is pregnat so we are looking for a small dog. In this household there is a adult male, adult female, a teenage female (me!), and a unborn child. We have looked into a beagle, but they are too loud. And we have looked into Jack Terrier, but they arent so good with children. We perfer a small dog, but we dont mind if it is a medium sized dog. Also, do you have any ideas where to look for puppies. We looked at shelters and the SPCA, but they are all older.
Thank you!

Just a poll for information: How much do you know about vaccinosis? Have you done any research and considered the repurcussions for your own pets? What is your opinion of the argument?

We went to the vet today and asked her the same question and she said she definitely should be able to. The only doubt in my mind is that she said my puppy can hold it for 6 hours, but we would be crating her for 8 (the family is big on sleeping. haha).

Will she still be okay? She's a small breed puppy, Sheltie/Bichon mix. We crate her during the day, which has worked extremely well, but we ruin all the training by putting down puppy pads at night and generally giving her run of the downstairs when we're home. We're trying to be more consistent without crating her all the time yet with as few accidents as possible.

I have a 9 week old Golden Retriever who sleeps in his crate by our bed. I've had him for 3 weeks now. He sleeps in our room so we can take him out when he has to go in the middle of the night. He can pretty much sleep through the night now, but 9 weeks still seems kind of young to move him into the living room. Trainers have said "younger dogs" should sleep in the room with their owners, and "older dogs" can be by themselves. When do they become "older"? I don't want to stress him out, and him being in the room isn't bothering us, but I also don't want it to become a dominance issue, which I know it can.

I have seen alot of people on here asking about certain purebreds or mixes and they seem to get more critisizing than they get advice. Yes, a Morkie, a Puggle, a Poogle and any other mixes breed are mixed, but if that is what a person likes then isn't that their right? I am sure that these people realize that they are getting a mixed breed dog, but maybe they want a mix of two certain breeds. Everyone has to realize that when someone makes a decision to get a dog, it is their decision. They cant be insulted or critisized into getting one from a shelter. That is their own personal choice. They are the ones who have to shell out the money for the dog, pay vet bills, and provide that dog a home. I decided that I wanted a Siberian Husky, but I wanted one that I knew where it came from, what its parents looked like, could call the breeders if I needed to. That is why I went to a breeder and not a shelter. The people getting these "mixes" have the same rights. Why do some not agree?

Someone told me that the chewing would taper off around the time they were 2 years old. We've spent a fortune in chew toys, but they prefer the good stuff....like furniture, clothing, tiki torches....etc....

So is 2 yrs the magic number for this to end? Is this pretty much the truth or does anyone know different....?
