Dry food is the best for his teeth, so just put out his food and when he's really hungry he'll eat it. No dog will starve himself to death, but you're training him to wait for the peanut butter. A little isn't going to hurt him, but it's not good for him to get peanut butter on such a regular basis. He will eat his food if you don't keep giving him peanut butter.

many pups are reluctant to eat dry food even if they have been fed it for a while. Sometimes, dogs outgrow their taste. Now, about the wet food, I would suggest mixing a little bit of wet food with the majority of the dry food when you feed him. ALso, since he/she is a pup, and you should be feeding him/her 2 times a day, give him/her the morning meal with dry food only and the evening meal with mixed wet/dry food. This will help them realize that wet food is good to eat as well as dry. As for the peanut butter, I personally only give my dogs peanut butter as a treat or when I need to give them pills or medicine. Mixing it with dry food could be dangerous because if too much is swalllowed at once, it can take a while to break down the butter. best bet, go out and buy some of those Little Champions wet meals and mix it with his kibble.

Peanut butter is okay to feed a dog, but should not give him too much. What I do when I am weaning pups is to give them the wet food, but also have a bowl of dry food out for them too, and they will start eating the dry on their own.

Just take his dry dog food and add a little bit of water... the dry dog food will soak up the water. microwave until it is a little warm. the texture and the smell will appeal to the dog. gradually cut down on water and he will be eating dry dog food in no time.

Switching from wet to dry dog food could be hard on their digestive sysem. Try and make it a gradual move... It will not make them have runny stool, gas or belly aches.

Large amounts of penut butter arent good for your dog. It should only be used as a treat. Cheese is also good in small amounts as treats...

this totally works... put a little water in with his/her dry food then put it in the microwave(dry dog food can be nuked)for a few seconds then mix it up so its a bit mushy and there you have it, dry food that now healthy wet food. we had to do this for our yorkie. you can also buy a cheap coffee grinder and grind her dry food a bit then follow the rest of the steps, that will really be like wet food! we did it for 7 years!

It seems that he is training you. Don't mix anything with the food, he'll eventually eat it when he's hungry enough... he won't starve himself to death. He will however, whine and put on a show for the wet or peanut butter mixed food if he knows you'll give it to him.

He's cute and adorable, but if you give into him, he'll keep taking advantage of you. Smart puppy!

It is really important for dogs to eat dry food.

maybe if you gave him his dry food and nothing else he would eat it. 'cause he will be hungry this means no table scraps etc..
