I have an 8 month old Sheltie and everyone tells me I should get him spayed. I don't see why. I don't plan to breed him and I feel bad for putting him in pain for nothing.

I have a 3month old puppy who follows me around all the time... He plays very well if I'm in the same room, but once I get up to move or use the bathroom he looses interest... he'll stop what he's doing to get up and see what I'm doing (even stops eating), then sits by my feet until I sit back down. He even likes to climb on me playing with toys and stays really close, even sleeps on top of me, as if I'm going to leave and never come back. I don't want this to become a habit once he's grown a little and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I've tried a few times to seperate myself from him by sitting in a seperate room or going outside to let him be free, but he'll just sit by the door for a while and then curl up and take a nap until I get back. I give him a lot of attention and show him lot's of love, so I know he's not lonely. I just want him to be happier and independent when I have to cook, clean, use the bathroom, and study for school. Is this normal? And can you help

I have a box turtle and he is awesome. I feed him mostly mealworms, and occasionally crickets. Sometimes his stools contain the exoskeletons of the worms he eats, even though I try to feed him freshly molted worms. I am worried this is bad for his digestive system. Would crickets be better? I have also fed him cooked, diced chicken, but he doesn't do as well with it.

Any suggestions or experiences of other box turtle owners?

We have a male boxer pup and I am wondering how much does the average weigh. I have already read in books that they are around 55-65 lbs, but I have never honestly seen one that is that big! I work with dogs and I don't think I have seen one more than 50 lbs. Does anyone have a bigger boxer?? The reason I am asking is because our new townhouse requires a weight limit on pets, and my schnauzer is 14, and we can't go over 60.

I have started to keep tropical fish and the breeds seem to hang around with their own kind.

Ok, when I first got my hammie from Petsmart his pinky toe was bent backwards and his toe nail was yellow and brittle, but it didnt bother him cuz he was running, jumping, eating ect. doing fine. I then began to cut the nail off cuz it was getting VERY long. He did fine after I cut it off, it would just grow back and then I would cut it again ect. But then one day it fell off on its on, now his foot is swollen, bloody, and just HUGE. He still eats, drinks, ect. but I dont what to do...he runs ALL night in his wheel, should I take it out to give his foot healing time?? If I take it out the he jumps up and down on the glass FOR HOURS!! Can I put anything on his foot WITHOUT making him sick ect.? What should I do?? I wanna use peroxide but Im scared will it hurt him? Someone please help me.

I have two indoor cats, but there are at least 6 strays using my yard as their bedroom, litter box and playground because my neighbor started putting out food for them. Is there anything non-chemical (natural method?) that will make my yard undesirable? I read that cats don't like coffee grounds but haven't been able to acquire enough to see if it works.

Lab owners. DO you like your dog. Does it listen to you and is it loyal. I have a lab/beagle mutt and it is real smart but does not obey well. I think this is because the beagle in her but i was wondering if anybody else had this problem. My dog is shy and backs away when you approcah her. She always wants to go outside. If anybody had similar expieriences what did you do about it?

I have a combo hood that finally died. I've had it for awhile and since then alot of new things have come out and I want to and need to replace the combo unit. My old combo unit held a UV tube light and had 2 places for light bulbs for heat.

Can all you reptile lovers tell me about the coil UV light that is used with a dome light? Is it good? Do you recommend it or should I go back to a combo unit? The only thing about the combo unit is that the whole thing needs to be replaced if one element dies : (

Advise about not so expensive UV and heat lighting for 50 gallon tanks please?

PS: I obviously would also have another dome light to emit heat.
