Yes. It's okay.
Your cat might be sad for a second, but he/she will quickly get over it and move on to other things...like napping, catching bugs, and scratching up your couch.

You can own a dog but no one owns a cat. They own you. A dog has owners but a cat has "staff" that do things for them at their calling. My cats could care less when I leave the house. They just want a treat when I come back. I was gone for a week one time and oh when I got back they were glad to see me just long enough to get a treat. Animals have no concept of time. They are happy to see you if you have been gone 5 minutes or 5 hours. Cats are their own person. They train you the way they want you. And believe me mine has me trained just right. They are both 11 years old and are inside cats. They have never been outside and they are neutered.

Your cat will get use to you leaving after a while. Actually I think my cat loves for me leave. But he's always happy to see me when I get back and sometime I might not see him for an hour or more when I get home because he wants to be alone. Cats have all types of different personalities.

Yes, it's fine. Cats only have about a 2 hour memory, so no matter how long you are gone, you are only gone for 2 hours in their world. Don't worry. I take a lot to negatively effect a cat. They are nothing like dogs.

Yes, it is OK. If you come home and the first thing you do is feed the cat, he'll think you've been out hunting for food and have brought him home the kill. Just amke sure that you make your cat realize that the door is YOURS - so he won't try to dash out when you open it. How? Everytime he goes near the door, shoo him away and never never let him out that way unless you can leash=train him.

Yes, don't confuse the poor cat. If he doesn't see you leave, he might think your still in the apartment, but he won't be able to find you. It's better for him to realize that the reason he can't find you is because you left.

I have 7 cats and I leave them every day to go to work. They're absolutely fine and it's most rewarding to see their cute little faces looking for my truck when I pull into the driveway at night. As soon as I open the door, I get 7 little faces greeting my arrival. Your cat will be fine and will adjust to your schedule to eventually greet you at your door when you get home. I hope this helps.

It is okay. My cats see me leave every morning and they greet me every night I come home. But I also give them lots of food and lovin' when I'm there, so that may make the difference. Congratulations on getting the cat. They will bless your life more than you know.

Nope, cats are very social creatures, but they also have a great sense of independence. Most likely it won't miss you once you are gone for awhile, but they are usually happy to see you again after being gone all day. Mostly it will just sleep when it is home by itself.

Yes it is fine. The cat will not be tramatized. She will instead enjoy her alone time. Hopefully not too much. My cat is wild so when you leave her alone she usually destroys something or knocks something over. But you will benefit from you cat welcoming you at your door unless of course he/she is sleeping.
