Instead of flipping out about another person after the notorious teacup, i will do my best to answer your question. As already mentioned, there are toy, minature and standard poodles, no where in the history of the poodle breed is the word teacup mentioned. Now that thats cleared up, ask yourself why you want a 'tiny teacup', can you really think of a reason other than "because they're cute"?? And im being serious here. Also no real breeder will use the term teacup. So i would steer clear of anyone who uses that word, all they are after is your money. Poodles are a great breed, and toy poodles are small enough! So do yourself a favour and find yourself a reputable breeder.

Correction: There are STANDARD, MINIATURE, and TOY. There are NO "tiny" or "teacup" poodles. Have you looked up the poodle club of america website to see what they have to say about "teacups?" I know every other toy breed website has a statement about the "teacup" scam. The problem with referring to them as "teacups" is because the people that started doing so (and continue to do so) are the backyard breeders and puppy mills who are simply trying to cash in on runts because they know that the uneducated public will pay for tiny dogs to carry around like they see celebrities doing. It's wrong not only because they are claiming these dogs are something they're not, just to make money, but ALSO that they are breeding runts specifically to get "teacup" sized dogs, when runts are already predisposed to many more health problems due to their size.

Whatever you spend to purchase a "tiny, teacup" poodle will be nothing compared to the price of trying to keep it healthy. Breeders that advertise animals as you have described are often puppy millers or backyard breeders and are bredding low quality animals to make their pups small. But, they do not care about health problems, and you will be stuck with many health issues!

Go to AKC.com and lool for toy poodle breeders in you area.

There aren't any tiny teacup poodles. There are toy poodes, though. Any smaller than that is bad for the dog.

I've seen toy breeds start out at $500 or so. I highly suggest though going through the ASPCA in your area, or petfinders.org. That is where I found my dog, and a friend here at work found his dog. They make the most loyal pets, and you never know what you may find. =)

The cost is misery and suffering to dog for the sicknesses caused by overbreeding and lots of profits to the owners of the puppy mills
