Our 9 year old daughter was giving water to the dogs. Our 2 year old pittie suddenly knocked her down and began to "hump" her. Our daughter tried to push him off of her and he grabbed her arm in his mouth. He left a couple of small puncture wounds and a big bruise. During this our daughter was screaming and tapping him on his nose. Before the incident he was wagging his tail, during the incident he stopped wagging his tail, he wasn't growling either. My husband wants to get rid of him. I am trying to get help. Our Pit is not neutered. Does anyone know what could trigger this behavior? I'd appreciate especially info from a vet or dog trainer. NO PIT HATERS PLEASE!!!

I just found out 3 days ago that my boyfriend, 3 cats and I are moving to Las Vegas from NJ in 3 weeks. My biggest concern is moving my 3 cats (2 quite large adults and a 5 month old kitten) across the country with us. Since we are going to Vegas where it is very hot, I refuse to fly the cats out there by themselves. Airlines treat animals as cargo and I couldn't risk anything happening to them. My only option is to drive them out there.

If anyone has crossed the country with their cats and has any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. I guess I'm most concerned about them escaping when we stop to rest or when I have to roll the window down to pay a toll and what to do about the litterbox. Any advice would be great!

ok, just this week we booked an appointment to the vet's to get my cat spayed. However, she's in heat for the first time andfrom what I hear, cats become lazy (only sleep and eat) if neutered/spayed after puberty.
What do I do? Is it still better getting her spayed or should I let it pass? Maybe it's not too late?

Mind you, she's an indoor cat. My mom is thinking we could introduce a male cat just once and let her have kittens so she'll get it over with. Will *this* work maybe?

I have a dog and we buy him a dog food that is hard. He won't eat it. I don't think he likes hard food. What do i do. Is there a type of dog food that has a mix of hard and soft dog food?

I read in the paper of a 19yr old man who tortured his dog and left it too die, a couple found the dog in the ditch with a broken neck, back, and pelvis, a bag over its head, rope around its neck and legs. The poor thing was still alive...This makes me sick to my stomach, they did find out who did it and he is being charged, as far as im concered he should be tortured in a chamber and left too die, why the **** do people do this to harmless animals!? I don't understand it, they should all be shot in the head!

When I noticed the blood, of course we rushed him to the Vet where he did an immediate pelvic, abdominal palpations where my dog immediately reacted to -- two x-rays later it was determinded that he had gas - put on a diet of rice/hamburger and/or cottage cheese. He was given Antiobotics. My question is, how does gas cause diarrhea? and How long should this diarrhea last? My dog actually started to realise the gas last night, which is a good sign.

Especially a Labrador retriever. He is not sick but was left by the owner unattended that's why he lost a lot of weight.
