Look for any blood spots, from the first day u then have around 11 to 14 days before she then be mated with dog. A good indication is the blood ceases and then a clear fluid will follow, so this is the time to make sure your dog is kept separated for a further week or so if you don't want her to be having pups.
If its her first season this is not always text book so just be careful.

If she's bleeding, she's in season. She'll also be licking her bits a lot, and attracting attention from male admirers! Maybe you can bribe her with a bit of meat to let you look, or a belly rub? Check where she's been sleeping, as that's usually where bits of blood escape- when awake they usually keep themselves clean.

Try rubbing a tissue or clean cloth over her ahem rear, possibly as part of petting, grooming even a bath. If shes in, its highly likely ther will be enough drops of blood to show on the cloth

You will notice blood and your b1tch will be a bit under the weather and could be a bit grumpy. You may notice her cleaning herself more often and licking the floor to clean up after herself.

Bitches in season usually have mood swings and become quite nippy, so if she wont let you look down below and shes bleeding then its sounds like shes definitely in season.
