I live in a rual neighborhood in a decent area, how would I discourage pigeions from landing on the roof of my house and soiling my car? I've tried the plastic owl, and the sounds of hawks, and falcons. The pigeions just laugh at those contraptions!!! A friend of mine just got roof spikes and just this morning I saw approx 20 pigeions on his rooftop. I don't want to poison them or shoot them with a pellet gun. I want them gone safely.

I just read somewhere that their illegal to own as a pet in california... why is that? They don't look like they could kill off native animals like a ferret can...so why?

(and nothing bad ment towards ferrets... I actually adore them)

He may be friendly to a small number of dogs. But he is super agressive to many other dogs especially to bigger size unknown dogs. He socialise often at different parks but some dogs, he just cannot get along with. Usually, he will start to be aggrssive first and if the other dog reacts, he will fight. He has been hurt by one big dog before.

Yesterday we had to have our 7 year old Pit Bull euthanized because of various health problems. He had heartworms (which we knew about (long story), but anyway, he had serious other problems as well, and no doubt it was the best thing for him. I was wondering though, does anybody know if vets are more apt to "put down" pit bulls more than other dog breeds?
Also, does anybody know if vets are required to report to anyone when they "put down" an animal, and if so, to whom do they report it?

I was wondering what are the benefits of registering a dog with the CKC. I have an american pitbull terrier and just got her papers from the previous owners. With the paper was a registration form for CKC and I was wondering if I should fill it one out (it's old I printed a newer one) and send it in. What are the benefits?

Finally, I think I have made some head way with the topic of getting a dog, finding the true reason my dad does not wish a dog in the home. Because they smell and such, but that can alll be taken care of easily, I stated that I would be doing all that, and he denied that I did. So, I'm out on a mission to prove to my father that I can be more responsible then I already am. In hope, that one day when he finally sees that I am responsible enough in his eyes, to get a dog.

-Thankyou, Sunny.

I got him when I was 2. He came from a Highlights magazine send out. He was a tadpole whenI got him and now I am 25 and he is still alive! He only stays in the water and can not be taken out. He is kind of white with long toenails on his back feet. I just want to know if anyone has any idea what kind of frog he may be..and if it's normal that he lived this long?
Thanks

I was wondering what the best kind of kitty litter would be. I've been using fresh step and the scoopable kind smells great but gets stuck in his paws and the non-scoopable kind doesn't smell good at all!

I read an article yesterday on MSN.com that was about shipping abandoned animals from a war torn area in Lebanon to the USA for adoption. I am an animal lover, but I have a problem with this. The cost of this mission is $250,000 to ship 300 animals. While I am all for saving animals, there is already an over population problem in US shelters. Animals are being euthanized daily, and we are shipping more in? I think the money could have been put to use more logically, and been able to help many more animals in the process.

Am I entirely off base here, or does anyone else agree with me?

We had a beta that died last year. She wants another one. I don't know much about the different kinds of fish. Something that is known to live awhile would be good.

Today, there is a skinny and young cat coming to our company. It may be only one or two months old. I hope that I could take it home but my place is not allowable. My colleague and I try to feed it while working in company. However, it is too small and skinny that we are afraid he will be squashed by car wheel. If I take it home, is there any suggestion for me to start to take care of it because I really don't have any experience of cat.

My family has 4 dogs. One is a male, the rest are female. The male dog (Toby) "molested" one of the female dogs (Daphnie). After that, Daphnie started "molesting" a stuffed animal. Now, about 8 months later Toby (who is neutered) is "molesting" Daphnie again. My question, is now Daphnie tries to "molest" one of the other female dogs (Ginger). Is this normal?
