I got him when I was 2. He came from a Highlights magazine send out. He was a tadpole whenI got him and now I am 25 and he is still alive! He only stays in the water and can not be taken out. He is kind of white with long toenails on his back feet. I just want to know if anyone has any idea what kind of frog he may be..and if it's normal that he lived this long?
Thanks

Might be an African Albino Clawed frog. There is a pic on this website so you can search a bit more if this is not it. Hope this helps.

those things last forever!
omg, highlights magazine! takes me back to my youth(im 25 as well) they usually are white, and they are aquatic frogs meaning you cant take them out for the water, they live forever, i m pretty sure they'll outlive the human race! I believe they're from Africa
ask someone at a petco/petsmart the next time you buy it some food; they'll know.

frogs can be difficult to identify, but there are plenty of wildlife guides available at any library in your area. it will take some time to find out. Worst case scenario take multiple photos and go to the reptile house at the closest zoo.

Go to the library and look at photos of frogs from that area.Consider yourself fortunate to have had a pet that long.

He is an african clawed frog. If he is small, and he has claws, then im right. If hes small and has webbed toes, then its an african dwarf frog. go to http://www.images.google.com and type in african clawed frog and see if it looks like it
