My dog went into heat a few days ago. I was wondering how long this last and if there are any tips for controling the 'mess'. Also I called the vet to set up an appt to have her fixed. (She is 8months old) I figured that I would have to wait until she wasn't in heat anymore but the vet said they could do it while she was in heat. Is this ok and will she still bleed after the surgery?

It punctured his finger down to the bone, and we're trying to figure out if he needs to see a doctor. He drained it, scrubbed it with soap and water, and put rubbing alcohol on it.

Will this be enough?

I don't know what to put this under, so fish it is.

So my dads friend that is poor wants to keep one of my 6 kittens. They are good people.....but they are poor......which means they wont have hardly any money if they even have any! Im not trying to be rude. I just want these kittens to be able to eat and drink and have some toys and a nice place to sleep. My dad is leaning toward giving them one, But he knows that i am the one that decides. I made that very clear to him today.
So what do you think? Should i give them one or not?

I have a cat that weighs 20 lbs (goes to the vet regularly and has no health problems), and I have heard that a cat that big is unhealthy, but I also heard that its ok if a cat is that big as long as he gets exercise and regular vet check ups he will be fine. So is a cat that weighs 20 lbs healthy or not healthy?

My husband who now is really ill always is reminising about our Dog who was uthanised due to a fatal illnes,this dog was really,loved and I would sure like to own another Retriever as they are trustworthy around kids ,people in general My ' Problem'
Vetranarian telling me the Humanre.Society isn't a reliable source to buy a dog,
the adds in the newspapers have dogs in the $100.00--500.00&up to at thousand dollars for sale.
I don't like purebreeds with their many genetic problems.tOO

We have been free leasing a horse that we were pretty much told we could have her if we decided we would keep her for her whole life, but now the owner wants us to either buy her or give her back so she cna sell her. I love her to death and I cried when I found out there was a small possibillity we couldnt keep her. We are going to put in an offer. She is a horse that will pin her ears at anyone she hasent been around for at least 2 weeks, doesnt know how to lunge in one direction, wont take a bridle, is overweight, needs shoes kept on her, and is a bully to other horses. How much do you think she is worth?

Okay whenever my cat gets scared she ..uh...let's loose and I'm stuck cleaning up runny cat poop. Should it be that easy for her to just poop when she gets scared? It's not like she trys to make it to the litter box, she just poops right then. Last night, for example, a car backfired...she hissed and pooped as she was running away. None of my other cats are like this, I mean they get scared but the explosive stuff..nope they just hiss and run away.
I'm wondering if there is maybe a health reason that she goes squirting so easily? Any help could be greatly appreciated

His shell is shedding huge chunks. I dont think that he's supposed to shed this much. Is there something I can give him or do to fix this? Do I need to take him to a vet?

3 nights ago my 8 month old golden retriever threw up in the bedroom twice, then another time in the hallway. I cleaned those up and went to sleep. She threw up another 4 times that night though. She's been fine ever since though so I didn't take her to the vet. Seems like I'm always taking her to the vet, unlike any mutt I've ever had.

I recently had someone abandone a kitten at my home. I decided to take it in and give it some food and water. While I was doing this I discovered that the kitten has maggots eating its tail. I unfortunatly do not have money to take this poor animal to a vet does anyone out there have suggestions how to help this kitten

she is acting like shes traumatized and shes shaking and freaking out for no reason. Shes okay if i pick her up, but if i touch her she starts freaking out again. Is it possible that the frog could have been poisonous to her? and if so, is this just a phase or will she be like this forever.
