Dry is better. It's good for the teeth and the poop will be less messy. Plus, if you ever start the puppy on a combination of dry and canned, it won't ever want to give up the canned.

A good quality puppy food in dry form is best. You can add a little water if necessary. It is easier to train your puppy as his system will be very regular and he will not have so many accidents in the house. A small amount several times a day is better than a large amount once or twice.

Most vets will recommend that you moisten a puppies dry food to make it easier on their digestive system until they are around three months old then try mixing a small amount of can food in with your puppies dry food to make it taste better or order some of that gravy stuff that Drs Foster& Smith have in there cataloge.

It depends. Your puppy is old enough to have dry food, however with some smaller breeds the dry can be to big to crunch. By far dry food is best. If you have a smaller breed you can add water to the dry to make it easier to chew.

It depends on if you want to deal with canned food forever. Once dogs get used to that, they expect it, it's hard to get them off of it. Dry food is much easier. You can add water to the dry food, some dogs like that. Just make sure you get a good brand of puppy food with lots of protein.

hey,dry food really is the better choice .canned food can't be left out in a bowl for more then 20 minutes or bacteria and other harmful things start to grow. But if you find that your pups not drinking enough water through out the day you can sneak a little more in by feeding canned and if he will not eat it because it s not the same ,add a little water to the dry kibble . hope that helps

You should feed him both...the soft food tastes better to a dog but the hard food is what makes them lose there teeth....i know of a dog that ate soft food for months and then when he went into a pet store and the pet store fed him hard fodd he lost every one of his teeth all at the same time making it really difficult to eat anything....when i did with my puppy is i took a container and filled in up each day the amount that the dog will eat and i would fill it with (in my case) one can of puppy science diet and a cup of puppy science diet hard food...and that would last her a few days...make sure that the container has a tight lid on it at all times though. so that it don't go bad...and make sure that if you refrigerate soft food .... warm it in the microwave for 15 to 30 seconds till it's lukewarm...dogs love warm soft food a lot better
