First thing in the morning, after every meal, and before going to bed take them outside to a specific spot or area, and stay there till they do their business. Reward them as soon as they've peed of pooped with a treat and what not. Do NOT hit them or rub their noses in it. That will teach them that going to the bathroom anywhere is a bad thing. I had my puppy trained to go out side in 2 days. A bell by the door also that they can ring when they need to go out is also helpful. Puppies younger than 9 months will have to pee between 6 and 8 times a day. Pooping 2 to 3 times a day. Encourage them and be excited for them. They'll learn faster and won't fear you.

Repeat a key word (i.e. potty) and take the dog out side, and praise him when he does it. Good luck. You'll get it eventually. Dogs are like kids, they take some time to learn and then they don't want to mess in the house any more than you would... well most dogs that is.

don''t ever spank or rub your dog nose in urine as this will make them want to eat their own mess. the best way is to take them outside every 30 minutes, to the same spot - when they "go"be sure to praise them very much and show them what good "boys/girls"they are...eventually this award method will pay off very quickly and you can take them out every hour and so on. i have trained four dogs usin this method and it works each time..it typically takes 3 to 6 months to train a dog

PLEASE do not spank your dog to train!! I work with dogs, and that is the worst. keep them in a easy place to clean up when they are out of their bed. They will not potty in theeir sleep area. Place a weasel bell by the door, low enough for him/her to reach also. Ring this bell when you exit the door for a potty walk. walk or let out your dog persistantly. if and when your dog potties in the house, take out the poop and set in a place in yard, this is another way to train, but I don't like it personally. rubbing their nose in it is horrid to the animal, my parents used this method, and it only it venting your anger to clean up a mess. You wouldn't spank your child when he peees his pants, or at least, I hope not.

WE spank are dog and shove their nose in it. WE have a door bell that hangs from the door knob. Are dog goes to it and nudges it with her paw or nose and thats how she knows where to go to the bath room.

lots of love and treats for good behavior and consistency on your part. First thing when you get up, first when you walk in the door and last before bed. Don't yell, never hit, trauma just mucks it all up. Brag and pet, reward good behavior in dogs and they just keep trying to please you.

After they eat take them outside and tell them to "Do your business". After they do something praise them by saying "Good Boy" and them give them a small treat. We put a bell hanging from a string on the patio door and everytime we let him out we rang the bell. Pretty soon he would ring it himself to let us know he wanted to go out. We stayed out with him and praised him and gave him a treat when he did his business. We said something like "Good boy for doing your business."
Feed them quality dog food. My dog goes out to pee first then comes in to eat breakfast, then he wants to go out in the yard again to poop, then he comes back in to get his morning nap. In the evening he eats then goes out to "do his business."
Spanking never works for anything. Praise works for everything. Just remember, they eat then they have to relieve themselves.
