Don't blame it on the breed. My lab pukes all the time. Not because he's a lab, but because he eats everything in sight. There is nothing I can't drop on the floor and he won't eat. She probably got some grass. As long as she recovered alright and she is eating well, I wouldn't stress it. Next time she does throw up, try giving her 1/2 the adult dose of Kaopectate. It always helps my lab out. My vet told me to do it with my Persian (much smaller dosage) and my Lab.

I had a similar problem, my dog was always at the vet for vomitting, of course I worked there too. But it actually took a little over a year to diagnose, after blood work, exploratory surgeries, x-rays, ultrasounds all came up normal. I took a new vet when I first moved here, and he put a whole new spin on it. See my pup is 2 years old, spayed, and current on all vacc. so she is in good health. She would vomit about 2 times a day, about 5 days out of the week. She was always laying down, then when she rose up, minutes later she'd vomit yellow frothy foam. When I told the vet all that he explained how there is a bile duct (I might have mixed that up???) before her stomach, and for her how her organs are placed, when ever she lyes down, (usually on her left side) it causes her duct to leak down into her stomach, now with a full belly the body just passes it through the intestines, but on an empty stomach it just sit there and upsets it. So he told me to make sure she get a treat like before she goes to bed (thats when I noticed it the most) because the night time is usually the longest time where the dog has an empty stomache. I started giving her a treat or two before we went to bed, and made her meals free choice, and she hasn't vommitted once since then. So it might be something you want to mention to you vet or try yourself. Good luck.

I would watch her closely for any change in eating/behavioral habits, activity level, or the color/consistency of her feces. Any big changes in these areas could signal some sort of problem. But when in doubt, call the vet. Sometimes they can help you over the phone without ever scheduling an appointment.

Maybe something she ate. If she has access to grass (the kind that grows in the yard), she'll eat that to clean out her system if she's got an upset stomach

All dogs will throw up occasionally, but that was a lot for one night. She must have eaten something that did not agree with her. Glad she is doing better now.

my dog used to do that just make sure they don't over eat or eat the wrong things plus if u think it will throw up walk her outside so you don't have to clean it up but if it happens again just watch what she eats and especially how much

Sounds like she might have swallowed a toy or something. It might have been blocking her digestive tract. If she stopped throwing up, maybe it passed.

She's 8 months old. It's possible she ate something she shouldn't have.
