I read in a book called "97 ways to make your dog smile" that if your dog is hot to wet its ears, does this really help cool them down?

My 3 1/2 yr. old Siberian Husky just had her first litter. After the litter was born I found out that she was underweight. She was also discovered to have a uterine infection but was put on antibiotics and it seemed to clear up. Since the temperature in Texas has been so hot both her and my male have not been eating dry food. Her vet said that it is probably their breed and the fact that it is so hot. I have gotten them to eat canned, but she still has had a low appetite. She is not gaining weight and seems in fact to be loosing it. I have tried giving her puppy chow and feeding her more often both of which the vet said to try but have had no better results. Could this be depression from not being with her puppies any more? Any advice?

my dad raises pigeons, and in the last week, something has been getting into the cage and eating/killing the birds. He set out a trap, with marshmellows under the cage and now there is a racoon trapped in it. i am wondering if the racoon is the bird killer, or if happened to stumble upon the trap coincidentally. i am instructed to kill whatever is in the trap, but i don't want to kill the wrong animal

take your pet to the vet? I've been reading some of the answers on here & most[not all] are scarry. If you really care about your pet , part with a few bucks and get it properly treated. Please dont rely to much on what you read here or you may end up doing more harm to your pet. Ask yourself "doI really love my pet?"

My 1 year old male cat has been netured but still urinates on things. He did it as a kitten but after some reprimanding with a spray bottle and rough handling he quit. I just got a new comforter; he peed on the spread, all the shams, and even me at night. He peed in two plastic bags in front of his litter box and he got on the dinner table and peed on a bag there too. We put his face in his pee and use a spray bottle but it seems to not work. He knows he does the wrong thing when he pees because he seems to coware around. He is the sweetest cat and I don't want to get rid of him. What should I do?

We have a 3 year old cat and are having a problem with him pooping on a new rug we bought. First the rug was folded up under the steps when he went on it. Then, when we placed the rug in place (just inside the front door), he did it again. We also think he pee'd on it.

He has a clean litter box that he normally uses. He is an indoor cat. The only other time we had a problem like this was in our old house. We kept his litter box next to the steps in the basement. We later found about 50+ piles of poop in a crawl space just under the steps...right next to where we keep his box. I scoop and wash his box regularly and we live in a clean home. How do I correct this behavior or why is he doing it?

My only guess is that he really doesn't like the rug :)
