If it's long and open like a knife cut, clean it with hydrogen peroxide and bandage it with gauze. If it's a puncture wound like a hole, keep it open by picking off the scab and DON'T put a bandage on or it will get infected. If it's hot and very red or swollen, see a doctor. If you don't want to get your cousin in trouble, say you don't know who's dog it was but the people showed you the dog's rabies tag. If they know it was your cousin's, animal control may seize the dog and put it to sleep.

you should have it checked out by a doctor as soon as possible, a dog bite is very nasty, a dogs mouth has a lot of nasty bacteria in it and it gets in the wound. put some Hydrogen Peroxide on it. that will clean it better than any other thing for now, dont worry it does not burn if you use it. you could have a serious infection if not treated properly. good luck

First, you should find out about the vaccine history of that dog, particularly rabies. Pray that the dog is up to date, because from what I understand you want to avoid having to get a series of rabies vaccines at all costs (very painful!). If it is "nasty lookin'" you should probably seek medical attention. Unfortunately, you will most likely have to report this bite to your doctor, which means that the dog's fate may be at stake (depending on if he's ever bitten before, and how if so, how often).

If the bite is really bad, seek medical help from a doctor. But if you believe that you can treat it yourself, DEFINITELY use hydrogen peroxide, if it stings that is a good thing because the stinging symbolizes cleansing of germs and other infections. Then use Neosporin to seal and protect the cut, and apply a band aid (or gauze if the cut is to big for a band aid). I hope my advice has helped you.

You need to put peroxide on it and find out if the dog has it's shots. Do you know this dog? if not call someone to capture it and go to the hospital. Animals carry rabies if they don't have their shots.
This is nothing to play around with. If you know the dog is OK and has shots, then take care of your wound . Sorry about typos I have the flu.

Bite wounds are puncture wounds. Scrub with soap and warm water, pour hydrogen peroxide (available at drug stores, it's cheap and doesn't sting) into the wound. It will foam and kill the bacteria, but you need to rinse it off, thoroughly, when it stops foaming.
Dress with something like Neosporin with pain reliever. Use a bandage or a non-stick gauze pad with tape after you have cleaned and dressed the bite.
BTW, I hope the little mutt is up on its rabies, and you are up on your tetanus shot. (Every ten years.)

Hey, get to the doctor as soon as possible. You might need a rabies shot. For now, clean it with soap and water, pour some Hydrogen Peroxide on it to get rid of germs. If it bubbles when you pour Hydrogen Peroxide on it, that means it's infected. Keep putting it on until it stops bubbling. Let it air dry, then bandage it until you can get a doctor to look at it.

my daughter was bitten, I took het to the hospital and they just cleaned it real good and covered it with gauze and tape. the most imporatnt thing is to clean it so it does not get infected. If you have not already, clean it real good with soap and water, use some peroxide or iodine and then put some antibiotic ointment and cover it with gauze.
Depending on how deep it is I would keep it clean and covered for about three or four days then it should be okay to leave it open.

Wrap it right now, and go to a doctor. Also, you should make sure there was nothing wrong with the dog. You don't want to catch anything nasty from the dog bite.

Just rinse it with water. Put peroxide or neosporin on it, to help cleanse and prevent infection. In most cases, you can cover it up with a bandaid, but gauze works fine.
