I don't have a hose on my vacuum, I know i can use a lint roller, but i don't have one? I'm looking for one of those home remedies to take care of this problem. I am not getting rid of/shaving/killing my cat.

lint rollers work to take the bulk of it off. not the one with the sticky tape that u take off after its used. you can go through tons of those , the one with the red clooth on it that u can re use is better. this may sound odd but if you have the time use whatever you use to groom kitty to take off the hair off the furniture. or use one of those disposable shavers and run it lightly on the couch....depends on what fabric you have tho. if its cotton or linen you are safe with that but if its microsuede u might wanna stick to the lint roller.
groomin kitty as often as you can help keep the shedding down definitely though. i try to groom mine everytime she settle on me for a nap and she loves it and it helps keep me and my furniture fur free. its a win-win situation

Hmm- I would suggest masking tape, but it would take an awful lot of it.

For the short term, try rubbing a damp cloth GENTLY on the furniture. And in the future, get a hand-vac or a vacuum with attachments, and a lint roller or brush.

Good luck!

Get a small hand held vacuum for that or a lint roller.

Yea! You can use a sheet of Bounce (a sheet of fabric softener). That's works pretty good. OR wrap masking tape around your hand (sticky side OUT) and rub it against the furniture. I have cats, and when I would go to work I would wrap the tape around my hand to get the cat hair off my clothes.

Duct Tape, or other strong tape rolled outside your hand may work (sticky side out, of course) Test on a hidden space to be sure the tape won't leave a residue, though.
