I have 2 cats and a ferret. The cat that is 5 hates the ferret, and the other cat is 1 year old and he loves to play with the ferret, who is about 6 months old. It's hilarious to watch them play because the ferret gets in places the cat can't and it frustrates the cat. They have never tried to bite each other, just playing around.

It depends on the cat and the ferret really, we had 5 ferrets and 3 cats all at once and they all got along pretty well. Some ferrets were more suited to one of the three cats than the others but it was all a matter of peresonality.

My 3 cats (all male) get along fine with my ferret. They range from 2.5 years to 2.5 months old. My ferret can hold her own against all of them. When I let her out to roam, the cats get curious but they never harm or try to hurt her. I can leave them alone together for hours without a probelm.
Remember that most animals (cats, dogs, etc.) have individual personailties, so it may be possible to mix different pet species in the same environment. But until you know for a fact that there's no fear or animocity between the different species, be sure to keep a watchful eye on everyone and be ready to intervene if necessary.
Good luck!

I made that mistake when I was 16. I already had a cat and my mom let me get a ferret for my birthday. The ferret just wanted to play with the cat and hide under the couch. I really think if I left my cat alone with the thing for one more day, she would have killed it. I had to give the ferret up.

If they both are babies growing up together just fine! cause I have both and they both use a liter box no problem
but any other way I think not!
the ferret would piss the cat off to bad!

Just get a kitten and very young ferret and let them adopt to each other.Either that or you might end up with a very angry cat.

my ferrets beat up the cats, the dogs, themselves, us and anything else they can find. They are fun to watch though.
