They are both outstanding breeds ... I would base your choice on your local ... I have never been a fan of people having huskies in a place with a long hot summer.

A German Shepard is more like a one persons dog. So if you have alot of people around I would not get one. But I have heard that the Huskie tears everything up when their puppies. But they are both good dogs.

Both shed a lot and need a lot of exercise. Shepherds are much more obedient, but they bark more.
There's no way a husky will ever be like a shepherd, although they can make great family pets. Of all the dogs, Huskies are the closest to the wolf. For thousands of years they have been selectively bred to survive in the harshest of climates and to do only one thing for man - PULL. Once in a while, a more trainable husky came along and he would turn left or right on command, so he got to be the lead dog.
On the other hand, German Shepherds and other herding dogs have been bred for traits that allow them to protect our livestock, families and property. They are able to obey very complicated commands and are very responsive to what we want. This is not a knock on Huskies - just a good reason to choose a breed that fits in with your lifestyle!

Huskies are beautiful, but my experience with one was not good. They need more room to run, since they are working dogs and like to pull. So if you have a HUGE yard or plan on taking lots of walks, choose the husky. If you are wanting to train the dog to do all kinds of stuff, go with the german shepard. The husky I had was CRAZY and hard to train. So now we have a rottweiler. haha

It depends on what type of dog you want. If you can't decide then try looking for a German Shepherd and Husky mix. You can probably find one at a local animal shelter here's a site that may help you find one.

Get a rottweiler. Husky=too loud, german shepard=too nuts. Rottweiler=practically perfect in every way.

Where do you live? Are there climate changes?
Huskies really need the cold or they will constantly shed and you will regret it~it is a mess
Huskies are breed for pulling and really working~will you have time to spend with your dog?
Also do you have space for either one? Both are pretty big dogs and need excersize and space to run~
German Shepherds are a smart breed and can pretty much adapt to any climate~Shepherds are so smart the Police use them! Think about that
Im going with the Shepherd......
Good luck in your quest for a dog
Just make sure you have space and time for your dog before you buy one-even if you dont~ there are other breeds to consider if you dont have space (from tea cup to massive)

Think ahead. If you got one breed, would you be satisfied with it, or would you wish you'd gotten the other? Think it through thoroughly. (I'm guessing you mean a Siberian Husky or a German Shepherd. It'll be easier to research the different breeds on line -- to see which one best fits your needs and wants -- if you spell thier names correctly.) If you'd be satisfied with one or the other, get that one. If you'd be satified with both, flip a coin. Honestly. If you flip the coin and are disappointed in the breed indicated, you've just seen which one you really do want more. If you're happy with the selection, you've got your dog.

Siberian Husky are very clean smelling and dont bark much but they sure do howl.
German Shepherds bark all the time, mine barks at the doorbell on tv since I dont have one lol. And German shepherds shed like a mother.
