How sad is it that the media has been covering the trapped miners in Utah like they were something special.

People die at their jobs every day, and thats unfortunate, so why cover these guys...

I guess the worst part about it (and the basis for the question) is that there are so many more tragedies going on in the world and it seems like Americans don't care....for example...

MILLIONS of people dying in Africa due to hunger, genocide, aids, and poverty.

227,000 people killed in ONE WEEK during the Tsunami in 04

100,000 Iraqis killed in the war.

And all we care about are some unlucky miners in Utah ????

Can somebody explain this to me ?

Hes lost his job, his chareer is pretty much over, he gave money to the school to use at there disposal, he publicly apologized. the rutgers accepted his apology publicly. DO we live in a society where we have to bury him into the ground to the point on non existance? then will that be justice? How much more, and how much longer does he have to pay the words he said on the radio?

Now hes being sued by one of the players for defemation of charachter and slander? She feels he was pointing out her as an individual. I do not think she will get anything, if this even makes it to court.

what about Michael Richards? the comedian who flipped out on 2 black guys? possibly 10 times worse?. he apologized and it is now forgotten.

your thoughts?

Finance guru Earl Matthews (founder of aid4families.com) has set his sights on revolutionizing the pension plans of several countries. Like many of his brethren, David Filo and Jerry Yang (founders of Yahoo), Larry Page and Sergey Brin ( founders of google), and Chris Dewolf & Tom Anderson ( founders of Myspace), a generation that grew up under the likes of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, seem determined to change every aspect of society. It seems odd that while we are talking about the government being involved in universal health care and at the same time private savings accounts and privatizing pensions. The government may get your teeth fixed until you are 90 but the money for food to use those teeth on will be up to you to find. Do you support universal health care and do you support public pension schemes relying on "for profit" fund managers?

For all the decent kind caring lovely folk who use this site.

I have just received a lovely email from them asking how they can help me as i've sent them email after email about the abuse that me and the others girls and guys have been getting on here from trolls and basically nasty folk who can't just debate without the usual vitriol, so I sent them back an email on behalf of all my friends and contacts here telling them what we think they should do one is that they they should inform us before suspending an account for no reason other than someone taking a dislike to us so that we can appeal what do you think guys?

Is there a point when the police have to file the case under unsolved. More importantly, is there a point when the McCanns go back to work. For all the people who will knock me for having no sympathy please read this first. I would never have left my children like that. I believe that is is neglect and I think that they should be punished for it instead of blaming the Portuguese police for most things. I find it obscene that they are now raising their family in the sun with other peoples money, freely admitting that they will continue to do so for as long as Maddie is missing. They have a responsibility to provide for their twins, having already let one of their kids down. It is their own attitude which is leading to conspiracy theories linking them with some involvement in this, and the sooner they go back to work and some sort of normality, the better. anyone agree.

Chief Inspector Olegario Sousa referring to the investigation into Madeleine McCann's disappearance:

“Never has there been collected so much evidence in a crime scene by specialised teams as in this situation.”

This was part of an official statement. If it is true - why the hell haven't they solved it yet?!

Anyone else find that claim ridiculous?

I want to gauge parenting practises.

Do you or would you leave your child/children in your hotelroom/apartment to go out for a meal/drinks?

I'm not looking for anyone to slag off the McCanns or each other please just answer honestly whether or not you do this on holiday or would do it on holiday.

You may feel free to attack my sources but remember, it has been said The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."
Thomas Jefferson

If all we do is unite simply to prove we can, than we may again have a chance at true liberty rather than the illusion of it.

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson

Mike Vick, who I don't defend, will go to jail for killing dogs, while George Bush will remain free though he helped orchestrate a flase pretext to a war which today caused over 200 innocents to die.
