I'm sorry but I don't think that she was given a reasonable sentence. She killed the man in cold blood while he slept, no debate there. She first admitted to the police that it happened because he had found out about a check kiting scam that she was running that backfired on her and only later did the allegations of abuse come up, after she had met with her attorney who probably suggested they use the tried and true abused spouse ploy.
If Scott Peterson had claimed that his wife sexually abused him by asking that he preform unnatural sex acts, "Oh your honor, the things she wanted to do to me and have me do to her,,,I still have nightmares" and that he killed her in her sleep in some form of self defense the jury wouldn't have even bothered to go into the back room to deliberate before handing down the well deserved death sentence.
For my part I think she got away with murder and it will only be a little while till her book hits the shelves and then it will be a made for TV movie on the women's network Lifetime where all women are empowered and all men are beneath contempt.
I suppose OJ got away with killing his wife and now Winkler has done the same with her husband. Okay ladies, we're even now. From here on out how about we all agree on no more freebies. It'll be a better world if we do.

No. She murdered him by shooting him in the back while he was SLEEPING. There goes a self-defense theory. Abuse? The best they came up with was he made her wear a wig and high heels and watch porn and called her names. The last I heard there was an alternative to spousal murder. It's called divorce. If a man had blown his wife away he would have gotten murder one with a life sentence or maybe even the death penalty. If I ever decide to kill someone I want Winkler's jury or OJ's jury.

i think of its unhappy, preacher's different halves are put in a fishbowl and envisioned to act a definite way. we don't be responsive to if she grow to be abused or no longer, it relatively is misguided to anticipate he abused her. We additionally don't be responsive to if she had a temper and that that they had a combat and she or he in simple terms lost it. regardless of the reason, her life is over, she'll pass to penal complex if convicted, and how will her little ones look at her and be responsive to she killed their daddy? Nancy Grace shouldn't prejudge her. i wish she is able to get a basic path and that i pray that she would be able to discover some peace if she killed her husband for a good reason.

I didn't live her life, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. She may have endured a lot of things that were not even admissible to the public. For her children I am happy she can go home and be a mom. I do believe she is an excellent mom.

No, it sounds like this killing was premeditated because she killed her husband while he slept. She should be in jail until she dies in my mind or even better get the death penalty.

It was the classic of the "burning bed" she had her reasons and we weren't there to see what she had to endure. We can't judge her.
I don't condone what she did and, she had other means to save herself and, her children, she did try but wasn't thought of as telling the truth. They believed her husband because he was the leader in the family.

Fair to who? I'm sure she had some special sickness women get. That makes them kill their kids and sometimes their husbands.
