There have been multiple questions in Y/A regarding the Plame dismissal, but the articles state "U.S. District Judge John D. Bates dismissed the case on jurisdictional grounds and said he would not express an opinion on the constitutional arguments."

In other words, it was filed in the wrong court and needs to be filed in the correct court, there is no decision or reflection on the constitutional grounds of the complaint. So her attorneys will more than likely refile the case, this is no great victory for the conservatives, just a bit of a delay.

Do we need to send Conservatives back to school to work on their reading comprehension skills or (as I have suspected all along) do they just see what they want to see?

In discussion of her desire to withdraw from Iraq, Hillary said, "If we're not planning for it, it will be difficult to execute it in a safe and efficacious way." What I want to know is WHY? If the U.S. wins the war, there should not need to be any kind of additional pull out plans aside from what is normal in such situations. The only reason I can think of that would require a strategic plan of evacuation that took months to put together would be a quick or immediate pull out during the middle of a heated war. But why would we want to pull out before winning the war unless we were losing? Why would we be losing if we have more advanced weapons and technology plus a better trained military?

Hillary has said that she would end the war if elected as president. Has she offered any information as to how she thinks she would be able to win the war? Has she even presented the idea that ending the war would be winning it? It seems like her idea of ending the war is to quit (accept defeat).

How many think the main reason for the war in Irag is for profits for the elite corporations involved? How many think it's for the fight against terrorist, and the aid of freedom to the people of Irag?

I believe its for both. From a corporations point of view profits. From a soldiers point of view freedom. It's too bad the corporates aren't the ones fighting. Then they could fight for their own money. What do you think?

The pentagon has rebuked her saying that this propoganda feeds into the enemies hands, saying it allows fears that the US will abandon Iraq as the perception has been concerning Vietnam, Somalia & Lebanon. Do you think that in times of war our Congressional representatives should refrain from statments such as these?

So the Democrats want to make it possible for you and me to be sued when we report suspicious behavior which we observe in our everyday lives and we believe might pose a threat to our fellow citizens.
The Republicans want to make sure you are immune from prosecution for reporting your suspicions.
So . . . Are you still proud to be a Democrat?

I think I hear our enemies laughing at us.

Seriously, it's been six years since he alleged that he was going to Iraq and surrounding areas to hunt down those responsible for the WTC attacks, among others.

In six years, that's changed from 'finding Osama' to 'finding Saddam' to 'liberating Iraq' all in the name of the war on terror. What's going on?

What am I missing? I'm open to whatever anyone else has to say about the subject because if I am missing some of the fundamentals, I'd like to know what they are.

Oregon has had it for a while, and a company hired for 3-and-a-half-million dollars (Deloitte Consulting) came to the conclusion that this would secure the needed funds to maintain our road's infrastructure. Read the brief article attached and let me know how you feel about this. Being charged 1.25 cents per mile vr. 20 cents per gallon. At what point does it cost more? And how to monitor when you drive out of state? GPS-type monitoring equipment secured within your vehicle. Does this sound also a little like BIG BROTHER?

What is your spin on this?

New figures out today suggest that 24 Hour Alcohol availability has been responsible in the massive surge in violent crimes committed within the UK. Quite frankly what did you expect? I never thought it would work in the first place, it was always going to make things worse. People it would seem have problems enough holding their drink without making the sale of it non stop. People at the time said it wouldn't work, myself included and it would appear our words have been bourne out. The question I'm asking I suppose is do you agree that it is and always was a bad idea to give premises 24 hour licences to sell alcohol, as the increase in violent crime was the predicted and now proven outcome and should the government now U-turn and revoke the 24 hour licences and put things back to something more reasonable?

My boyfriend has asked me to post this for him. He needs ONLY a "yes" or "no" answer. He needs a minimum of 1,000 answers in order to make a valid determination on public opinion. Thank all of you for the help. Please tell your friends to help me. And, please, no "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" to anyone. It's not a question to argue, it's your thoughts alone. One more item: it's what you believe, NOT what you see on the news or read in the newspaper. NOT someone elses thoughts, just your thoughts!!

Ok, so I know that the bloke that slipped on the tulip petal at Waterloo is badly injured and such like and it appears that the woman who owns the stall was warned several times by station managers that her stall was 'shedding' a lot of floral debris,, however, why is it that compensation can be awarded to someone when they can find a person to pin it on, whereas if I was just unlucky and slipped on a leaf in Autumn when they're all wet a slippy, I'd just have to put up and shut up? Or could I sue the tree???

"Kate and Gerry McCann have reportedly said they are willing to quit their jobs as doctors and their home in Rotheley, Leicestershire, and start a new life in Portugal,"

How bizarre. And are they using the fund to continue this rest-of-their-lifetime lifestyle? You bet. And did the people who donated money to the fund realise this at the start? Nope.

I cannot believe they are actually contemplating just living off the million pound fund for the rest of their lives in sunny Portugal and not having to work again. This will probably go down as one of the greatest scams ever pulled off.

Threaten pro McCanns with police action because of alleged stalking and abuse when Anti McCanns keep stating "freedom of speach " and keep dishing out the dirt on a family that has lost a young child? Apears to be some double standards on this very freindly site.

Please NOTE I do not agree with threats from either side of the argument.

"We have a good relationship with them and, as well as the British officers who are in Portugal, we can feed any information sent to us back in to the enquiry through an English Speaking detective." Gerry.

1- How can that be ethical? Should Gerry be allowed to "filter" info that goes directly to him, before giving it to the PJ?
2-Has the McCanns case set a precedent that its a "lesser" crime to leave your kids alone? Wouldnt this woman have been jailed, before all this McCann publicity?

3- Matthew Oldfield said he knew the shutters were open because there was more light in the room than the last time he checked. Would the shutters really let in more light, if it was dark outside? Even if a street light was near? And he,s comparing it to what?? It was his first check of the night!

... and what did he do?
A man answering his description was seen by locals around the Ocean Club that night. The last check on the apartment was at 9.15pm. The abductor was seen carrying Madeleine by a woman at 9.30pm. The disappearance was noted at between 10pm and 10.10pm. Two female witnesses have identified Murat as being around the Club at 11.45pm. A man has identified Murat around the Club at 1am. Murat and his mum say he never left the house. He did take a phone call from the Russian at 10.30pm in his house. Off you go, then.

...yet there is nothing about the McCanns and their behaviour that is leaked.

We always hear of 'Murat under suspicion again' and Murat being brought in again because the McCann friends saw him there that night.

Yet the McCanns .......... nothing ......... as though they are holier than thou.

Seems to me someone is leaking information even though supposedly no information about the case should be leaked according to Portugese Police. Yet crucial information from the McCanns has never found its way into the public domain.

Strange that .......

No blame to the Johnson Beharry, the latest recipient- after all it is his commanding officer who'd recommend them.
Even Beharry felt it was political.

But I assert this soldier is the more serving.

I'm placing the blame on the wooly pinko limp-wristed cosmopolitan scum running the UK.

Why has only the Daily Mail (internet) picked this story up- has it been picked up by any others (I think I read it in the Times- but I read it in a hurry this morn)?

Again the point of this question is to highlight the ludicrousness of PC dogma.

This is what a protest of Muslims had on their banners today outside the Old Bailey, where 4 Muslims had been sentenced for inciting racial hatred and jailed for 6 years for the Muslim Cartoon row (remember the Danish cartoons?) of the prophet Muhammed pbuh.
So, if they're not happy with how the country is policed, am I alone in thinking, go home then?

In response to an email posted by BB, Justine McGuinness claims her wages aren't being paid from the Find Madeleine fund.

Who is paying her wages? The McCanns, the government or is she doing it for free?... I don't think so.

Ms McGuinness - if you or any member of your 'team' are on Yahoo at the moment (high possibility), please confirm.

Miss Principle's - please comment, your views are respected.

When the McCann problems first hit the news opinion was divided on Yahoo answers as to a number of things. Opinion was divided, but there was a certain amount of respect for each others views.

It would appear now though that respect has totally flown out of the window and its has been replaced by total abusiveness. The anti v pro debate used to actually be quite interesting, but now there is nothing but abuse abuse and more abuse. With anyone that doesnt agree with someone elses views just being down right nasty to that individual.

Anyone else agree?
