In response to an email posted by BB, Justine McGuinness claims her wages aren't being paid from the Find Madeleine fund.

Who is paying her wages? The McCanns, the government or is she doing it for free?... I don't think so.

Ms McGuinness - if you or any member of your 'team' are on Yahoo at the moment (high possibility), please confirm.

Miss Principle's - please comment, your views are respected.

Why waste your time replying Eden, I was actually being respectful after reading the abuse Ms Principle's had this morning. The question is open to all, even you.

This was from the 'backtracked' email.

I take it she's lying - she certainly won't be doing it for free.

From the Times Online :

"Lobbyist for Madeleine case

The family of Madeleine McCann will this week appoint a political lobbyist as campaigns manager. Justine McGuinness will be paid a “notional” salary."

Notional salary - an undisclosed salary agreed between the employer and the employee.

Note : notional and not nominal, two different things.

Faith, Justine McGuiness is not a friend she is an ex lib dem mp and had also worked for a well known company in a very senior role. She is used to a high salary and will be recieving one. How can anyone work for nothing?
Justine MGuiness isnt just a stay at home mum who wants a bit of interest in her life, she is a high flyer.

Edit: Faith, you know I hate upsetting you more than anyone else, I know that the rewards are good helping someone for nothing. I am lucky in that I get paid to help, in my job.
If you are right then I will be surprised, thats all. But it will show there is some milk of human kindness left, but how will she pay her mortgage? xxx

I absolutely 100% remember Gerry McCann using the phrase 'nominal fee' when describing Justine's work. I will try and dig up the link, but I definitely remember Gerry specifically saying she was getting paid, so she's not doing it for free, unless the circumstances have changed since he said that.

Why d'yu assume that she must be paid?
I think shes family or a friend who is doing it for free.
I would. Wouldn't you? I mean, its not like a job shes working at...she helping, i repeat helping, to search for someone's missing child. One doesn't really appear for a job interview for such "help"...one does it from one's heart.

Eden: I do respect your views. Its just that BB2003 had replied extremely pertinently to a similar question posted earlier & i so i wanted her inputs. She does do a great job with links & research too!

Hi Babyshambles! Her being an MP doesn't change anything. She could still be a friend or even a well wisher & do it for free. My sister & i've done stuff like this for people we didn't even know. Knowledge that you're helping someone & that you've made a positive difference is a reward better than money, you know! I know you know! Take care!

Don't worry Babyshambles! Your posts are so fair & well put, they never upset me! If Justine is being paid a "nominal fee" as Dave s says down below, i can understand that...
A Nominal Fee is basically a trifling, Existing in name only, from Latin Nomen = name. Very often, people who do vountary work are paid a nominal fee just as a token of appreciation. But remember, you never upset me! xxx

I wish people would stop posing questions inviting certain members to have a view. The site is for everyone not just BB3003 and a few select others
