...yet there is nothing about the McCanns and their behaviour that is leaked.
We always hear of 'Murat under suspicion again' and Murat being brought in again because the McCann friends saw him there that night.
Yet the McCanns .......... nothing ......... as though they are holier than thou.
Seems to me someone is leaking information even though supposedly no information about the case should be leaked according to Portugese Police. Yet crucial information from the McCanns has never found its way into the public domain.
Strange that .......

Goblina - Im not saying Murat is innocent. Far from it. What Im saying is that the level of accusations and intrusion ONE person is getting seems disproportionate in comparision to the ACTUAL crime (child neglect, and possibly more) committed by the McCanns.
Did Murat do it? Possibly. Did the McCanns do it? Possibly. Did the McCanns commit child neglect. Yes.
So, so far the McCanns are ahead against Murat on points, so why is he getting the rough end of the media stick?

Everything about the McCanns that is fishy is leaked by youself Dave, so we do get to know, just not officially. I agree in that I think they are setting that guy up, but there is something fishy about him too. I don't think he is completly innocent

The Mccann's as we know have friends in high places, that's why the media is biased in their favour.
As for Murat, if the police had anything on him he would have been charged by now.
The new witnesses stating Murat's presence near the apartment are probably thinking of the Reward - £2.5 million - a great incentive to remember him don't you think?
With regard to defending a suspect in a child abduction case, Murat is that exactly - a SUSPECT - he has NOT even been charged. In my opinion Murat is being set up to carry the can. I have no wish to see a miscarriage of justice, just so the real culprits can walk free.

I haven't read the other answers yet Dave and i agree with you about the McCanns but Murat is all they have.. If he is guilty and it's possible,then he needs to be cought. The McCanns will get theirs later and that's a foregone conclusion. Love to follow your thread,keep it up..

Maybe Murat is not 100% innocent, but instead of investigating and questioning him so much and not getting anywhere, (as we can see), why don't they have a bash at Gerry, if supposedly they went every half and hour to check on the kids did they take it in turns ??or was it only Kate that went to check?? I know when my daughter is in bed and calls I go once give her water etc, then when she calls again I say to hubby your turn love... What do the Portugese Police think about Gerry's actions jet setting about, buying Villa's etc is this not suspicious to them like it is to us.......maybe that's why nothing is leaked maybe they are investigating him and using Murat as a cover ?????

The Murat chap is an idiot and he keeps talking to people and the Media about the case despite the Portuguese law. That does not make him a criminal though, just an official suspect and an idiot.
As regards the McCanns- They are just respecting the Portuguese law.

The press can usually be biased in their reporting .. ie will only print stuff that will sell papers...
It is highly convenient that there are leaks about Robert Murat and it is all negative ....
This media circus swings the mccanns way when it suits

I totally agree with you. There's very little mentioned, if anything about the McCanns, their friends, the nanny. Nothing mentioned about their neglect of their children whilst they go out boozing, no comments made about their inconsistent stories about the break- in/abduction/doors open, locked etc etc YET, whether Murat is guilty of anything, or not, he is frequently mentioned in the papers.
It seems someone is leaking information to the press to the McCanns advantage - very strange!

Yeah you are right, I never thought of that. We seem to have heard more about his statement that night. Ie at home with his mother, then we heard all about Malinkey, and the hire car, the phone calls. Even the under ground cellar at the house, for Gods sake, which was built when the house was so, not really evidence at all.
Hmm yeah the laws abit iffy there isnt it?
