When did a middle school, or any school, become responsible for such illogical and comical actions? Matters of sexuality are reserved for parents or guardians. The leadership of this school has greatly erred in deciding to give out contraceptives to girls ages 11-13. They should reconsider their first priority: the academic education of the community's children.

Pupils at a city middle school will be able to get birth control pills and patches at their student health center after the local school board approved the proposal Wednesday evening.

The plan, offered by city health officials, makes King Middle School the first middle school in Maine to make a full range of contraception available to students in grades 6 through 8, according to the state Department of Health and Human Services.

Students treated at the centers must first get written parental permission, but under state law such treatment is confidential, and students decide for themselves whether to tell their parents about the services they receive.

At King Middle School, birth control prescriptions will be given after a student undergoes a physical exam by a physician or nurse practitioner, said Lisa Belanger, who oversees Portland's student health centers

I think we should be given the option to choose if we really wanna watch the BBC channels, those who do, should pay the cost n those who don't should't. Better still why not get rid of the licence n have BBC do adverts just like any other channel then we wouldn't have to pay. I'm really tired of paying this fee as I hardly watch any BBC channel.

This case is unusual for the PJ because they have not had to deal with calous, neglecting parents that may of accidently killed their baby and do a FANTASTIC job of covering up with the aid of their cronies. Its said, you never stop learning, I think they have learned a lesson and will gear up for situations such as the McCanns & Co: incident

Bearing in mind 30 odd people had access to this car.

Rather than dismissing it as ludicrous rubbish I think I would be down the police station demanding to know which of these 30 people could have killed my daughter because I had nothing to do with it.

It isn't impossible that one of their associates could have used this car to move the body and yet they seem too busy defending themselves to accept the evidence in the boot may be correct and someone close to them knows more than them.

Whilst Madeliene McCann is still looking why is there so much focus on the way that Kate McCann looks. For two days running the Daily Mail (no I am definetly not a reader) has printed stories about how 'poor' Kate has been vilified because of her looks.

Personally I couldnt care whether the woman had three legs, Madeleine McCann is the most important person in this case.

Madeleine? If they believe she is dead and died on the 3rd of May, why haven't they turned up her body yet? Why can't they find her - dead or alive?

The whole of Praia Da Luz & Portimao should have been scoured by now by any means.
They should just face facts. The child has been abducted and taken OUT of Portugal.

I think it comes down to FUNDING. They can't afford it.
The case of Holly Wells & Jessica Chapman cost around £1million to solve. Do the Portimao police have this sort of budget for such serious crime? I think not.

I sympathise with her painful awareness of a prejudice that must bewilder her. I want to tell her, for a start, that many of us have left our children in situations which (with hindsight) could have been disastrous, and it's only the grace of God which saved us from what was surely a one-in-a-million tragedy.
I want to say that countless people (especially those of us who have thought our children near to death) admire that desperate, necessary self-control.
And as someone whose maternal qualities were once called into question because I worked in newspapers, liked a glass of wine and teetered about in high heels wearing lots of slap, I want to reassure her that in the end, only you can truly know what kind of mother you are.

Was it just after she was left and dissappeared? It's just that, the people who were SUPPOSED to be RESPONSIBLE for her, said the DNA, in the hire car, came from her unwashed clothes, so why wash the toy, the last thing she held, and not her clothes?

The comic book hero Captain America was recently Assasinated in a storyline that touches on terrorism, which given the current climate is fair enough. The Character has now been redesigned but now he carrys a 9mm pistol of the forties. The artist Alex Ross claims that this is a nostalgic refrence to the time when the character was at the height of his popularity. Personally I have always taught my son that super heros do not kill obvisiously this flys in the face of everything I have taught my son and given the recent spate of shootings in American schools and children shot on the streets of Britain is it really a good idea to be promoting gun culture?

Speculations, based on unofficial leaks from the Portuguese police, are all the media have to go on. The only undisputed fact is Madeleine is missing. The rest are Unfounded and uncorroborated rumours (even neglect as we don’t know the exact check-up arrangements).

I agree there is still a possibility that the McCanns had something to do with her disappearance. But if they exonerate the McCanns, then everything we’ve heard so far is nothing but malicious lies and the Portuguese police should be sued for Negligence, Incompetence and Corruption and because of them Madeleine is still missing and possibly dead.

Your opinion?

In the McCann feeding frenzy how many times does it take for a lie to be repeated for it to be believed?
No matter that almost no facts are known, a few people repeatedly condemn the McCanns as if the evidence of murder is indisputable. They imply it's only a matter of time before others who admit they don't know are shown the error of their ways.
Some seem utterly convinced of their innocence, and are then abused for condoning child neglect. Others seem to be of the opinion that whether they are involved or not, they deserve locking up anyway.

Only a few weeks ago, I leaned firmly towards the conviction that her parents had nothing to do with Madeleine's disappearance.
I still haven't seen solid evidence to the contrary, but the constant drip-feed of hostility and malice masquerading as fact sometimes makes it difficult to keep an open mind. Doubts creep in.
If you feel the same, please read this.
