There has been allot of focus in the media on the way people look and the effect that has on the public perceptions of such people as 0 sized models and celebrities. The McCs have PR experts who can play the media games to perfection, this is a vain attempt of these people to fool us into thinking that we are ignorant enough to believe Kate is guilty simply because we are jealous of the way she looks, and not because she is guilty of leaving 3 children under 4 years of age alone in a strange country.

I think people would be just as outraged if Kate McCann looked as maternal as Aunt Bee from the old Andy Griffith Show -- and rightfully so.
Regardless of whether the speculation is true, at the very least they are guilty of inadequate supervision of three children. If she's unable to see the "abductor" take her child, she wasn't keeping close enough watch.

If comments on here, today are anything to go by they have badly misjudged the public reaction to this blatant attempt to drum up sympathy for "poor Kate".The more of this nonsense they spew out the better, maybe even more of us will question the McCanns tale on reading such manipulative and downright risible humbug.

Its silly, i know.
Don't think for a sec its a PR spin by the McCanns. This has only hurt them more. Neither has it been spun by those who vilify the McCanns.
This, i think, is the media circus...plain & simple. Not unlike the focus & huge coverage given to Paris Hilton's recent arrent & prison time instead of to more worthy news.

Because the mccann pr machine is desperate to portray her as a victim .. a troubled mother
In a feeble attempt to win us over so when they are arrested and charged we will have a public outcry then the government can become involved and they put pressure on the portaguse to release them
It is all a game

Because the media is only there to sell its stories, not to be ethically sane. Like you, I'd much prefer more concentration on the search, rather than some Trisha rubbish that sells to the nosey, bored types with no life.

These are more desperate attempts to make Kate out to be a victim and try to turn the public who are suspicious of her and Gerrys involvement to feeling sympathetic and believing their story (even with the vast amount of inconsistencies)
This is a very desperate attempt from a mother who should be distraught and in pieces with worry over the wellfare of her baby girl.
Its a sad state of affairs that they are not out there looking for her but then they weren't looking out for her when they had her so why would they start now.

She started it, or rather her unpleasant mother did. Papers like the Mail will always seize on any excuse to vilify women because of their physical appearance, but even the Mail wouldn't have initiated it in this case because of the circumstances. All Mum's fault I'm afraid.
For what it's worth, I agree with you that the focus is getting even further away from where it ought to be ... although that's probably because all avenues of speculation have been exhausted and there's no proof of anything until a body is found.

My Mum (who is an express reader!) said she is sick of the sight of that woman's face on the front page of her paper.
