Out of Ohio comes the story of a brave and heroic little 10-year-old boy who ran away from his demented parents and took his younger brother with him. They were found on a stranger's porch some distance away. The 10-year-old only weighed 61 lbs. There was no report on the younger brother. The older boy reported he was tired of being locked in a dog cage where he was forced to wear an electronic dog collar, which was used to shock him. His parents previously had a daughter who died mysteriously and child protective services say they are taking another look at that case. Isn't it a shame that they didn't take a better look the first time? You can read the whole story on the 5/05/07 edition of The Drudge Report.

We were discurssing the Bystander Effect in my sociology class and incident came up when two teenage boys were playing in an arcade when a really young girl passed by, about 7 years old i guess. One of the boys followed her into the bathroom and raped her. Im not sure but I think he also killed her. The other one knew what was going on but didnt stop it. The one who raped the girl was caught and jailed but the other boy was let go after questioning. Soon after he got accepted into a really good college and the students there protested against his admission. Thats all I know. My teacher told us the story but she didnt know all the details. I'd like to read more up on this. Does anyone know about this and any specific details about it? Thanks! =)

Do you remember way back when Bush and Margaret Spellings used that "gay muppet" argument to cut the funding on NPR and PBS?

Well - now how do you like living in a world where all we get to hear about is Anna Nicole and Virginia Tech?
Wouldn't you like to know what's going on next door?

Wouldn't you appreciate public access that is not funded by a mega-church or Rupert Murdoch?

Just curious...

NO GAS...On May 15th 2007
Don't pump gas on MAY 15 th

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.
There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.
If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.
If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

With all the important issues that we have going on right now, is it right for the stories like: Anna Nicole's baby daddy, Alec Baldwin yelling at his kid, David Hasselhoff is a drunk, to get so much media attention and time that could be better spent dealing with real issues?

I understand the supply and demand. But when they raise the price are they hopeing that it will cause the demand to go down? Because we rely so heavly on Gas that it dosn't change the demand just makes the oil companys more money. Just a thought.

Fellow Americans, I am a US Soldier currently serving in the Middle East. Please write your Republican Congressmen, tell them to bring us home! This war has become a lost cause. I am proud to serve my country. Read the news reports about the Bill the our President just vetoed, nearly all of them mention pressuring the Iraqi government to give us some of the oil. This war has been turned into some economic power struggle. I have no problem defending our nation. But this is not the defense of our nation. This is my second tour of duty here. I am tired, exhausted and want to come home to my family. I know many of you will scream and yell about this, if you really want us to stay out here, come here yourself. If this lost cause is defending freedom and our way of life. You do it, I am sorry to diappoint you, but I don't want to anymore.
I posted some answers to other questions regarding the situation in Iraq please read those as well before posting something about letting Iraq fall.

Iraq lawmakers' vacation plans draw fire

WASHINGTON - Lawmakers divided over whether to keep U.S. troops in Iraq are finding common ground on at least one topic: They are furious that Iraqi politicians are considering a lengthy break this summer.

"If they go off on vacation for two months while our troops fight — that would be the outrage of outrages," said Rep. Chris Shays, R-Conn.

The Iraq parliament's recess, starting this July, would likely come without Baghdad politicians reaching agreements considered key to easing sectarian tensions. Examples include regulating distribution of the country's oil wealth and reversing measures that have excluded many Sunnis from jobs and government positions because of Baath party membership.

Iraqi politicians said Thursday the break might not happen or may be less than two months, but said it should be of no concern to U.S. lawmakers.

Talk of the adjournment in Iraq comes amid a heated debate in Congress on the pullout of U.S. troops in Iraq.

President Bush this week vetoed $124.2 billion legislation ordering troops to begin leaving Oct. 1. Failing on Wednesday to gain a two-thirds majority needed to override the veto, Democrats were expected to begin negotiations Thursday with top White House aides on the next step.

I just got this forward that there will be a protest regarding the gas prices on May 15th. No one is to purchase gas on this day. If people comply, then the oil industry will lose up to 2 billion dollars. What do you guys think? Is anyone sick of paying 3 dollars and then some for gas? I think we should do it.

Don't blame the arabs. American oil companies buy oil and gas at wholesale cost from them and then gouge us at the pump. If they sold it at a reasonable cost, gas in America would average about $1.50 per gallon and they would still be making a good profit on that.
