Maybe this will help -- you have to factor inflation into your thinking. Everything slowly gets more expensive, and compounds over the years. When I was your age, gas was 24.9 cents per gallon. Gas at $1 per gallon seemed ridiculous. However, I never thought I'd be earning as much money as I am now, and I'm not rich.

Within the next 100 years, we certainly will have to reinvent the car to cut down on oil use. Our resources are not unlimited, and global warming is becoming a problem. But there are plenty of other things to worry about. So take heart -- some good minds are working on the problem as we speak.

Honey, by the time you're an adult, gas prices will probably be closer to $8 or $9 dollars a gallon.

By the time you're 50, you'll have to wear gas masks to breathe fresh air; you won't have sufficient supplies of clean water to drink; gasoline will be $30 a gallon when it's available; you will live in the squalor that this current generation has allowed to inherit because they were too lazy and stupid to protect and preserve the environment and understand the delicate ecological balance between man, plants and animals in order for us all to survive on this planet. -RKO- 05/04/07

Because our president (US) sucks and nothing is being done to fix it. I believe I read an article that an oil company actually profited like 330 billion dollars in one year...

They are just ripping us apart and are steeling our money. We all need to start biking everywhere like China

we need to convince people that hemp is the ultimate bio-mass. we could grow enough of it in all climates all year long with no negative effect on the soil. people your age need to educate themselves because adults will fail. google 'hemp for biomass' and educate yourself. then once you learn what yer talkin about ask your science teacher about it. it will not eliminate our dependance on foreign oil, but it will make a bigger dent than using corn for biomass.

High demand, short supply, and a few accidents at a couple of refineries. (Lightning strike at a refinery--I think in Oklahoma--caused it to explode.)
