NO GAS...On May 15th 2007
Don't pump gas on MAY 15 th

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.
There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.
If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.
If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

Unfortuantly, most of us have an option on what water we drink. Gas is something thats outta our control, unless the whole nation does something.

Here's something you can control - here's how to make a real and lasting impact on the oil companies - buy an electric car. I bought a used freeway-capable electric car from eBay two years ago, for only $2000. I had to invest a couple thousand more for batteries and brake parts, but now I can drive to and from work without buying a drop of gas - EVER.

The electricity to run it works out to only a penny or two per mile. Plus, I often charge it up at work, on their dime! Here's a picture of it:

Don't bother. Instead, look up some of the other answers on this site (as well as urbanlegends.com), explaining why the chain e-mail going around is filled with bad data and assumptions. First one -- the 1997 action took place in 1999, and had absolutely no effect. Everyone just filled up the next day.

I might not necessarily need gas on May 15th since I don't drive very often. I've never even come close to using up my mileage allowance. So, I can fuel up on the 16th, but I can't imagine why it would have any effect.
