About the only time I have ever felt sorry for a United fan. But to be crushed to death - Hilsborough - from behind, or battered to death by French police from the front? The police just laid in without a thought of what was happening. An absolute disgrace - as well as frightening.
An English bobby would have to check on your nationality before he even drew his truncheon - let alone reached for the tear gas.
And what was the tear gas about? There was a stonking great wire wall between them and the fans, so the fans were no instant threat.
Yet again the french (small F on purpose) police have proved that they dive in with sticks, club to death, then ask questions of the corpse.
This time United fans have my sympathy.
What do you reckon?

continues to make statements like: "The American People won't support withdrawing troops from Iraq." "The American People know that Saddam Hussein was the organizer of the 9/11 attacks." "The American People don't want enery independence."
when in fact, the exact opposite are true?

Why is no one in the press playing soundbites from his nonsense over and over again, the way Rush Limbaugh does when a democrat says something that can be misinterpreted?

Let's face it. I read labels. I have to because of food intolerances. It's made me aware of how much hydrogenated fat is still found in foods. Scientific evidence says that these fats lead to heart disease.
And in the papers we are being told that by the year 2020 the NHS will be cracking at the seams with people suffering from heart disease.
If primary industries have to pay for pollution caused to the environment ... why should the food industry be immume from paying towards the cost of treating conditions that are caused by their products?
Should they be taxed for contributing to the epidemic of heart disease that awaits the NHS by 2020?
I know the consumer has a choice. In my case i choose to pay more for the non-hydrogenated variety. Not everyone can afford that choice. Should the food industry have a choice?

As a British citizen I am more than a little fed up with being told what we can and can't do by the 'powers that be' on a daily basis.

I have just answered a question ref Burka's and suddenly thought that maybe a new religion(if you list it, it will come) with a few well chosen, optional 'religious musts' might be in order.

Any suggestions-I think perhaps the wearing of the equivalent of a balaclava in public, funny hats to be sported on Wednesdays, and Friday afternoon through to Monday morning are to be treated as religious holidays at least once a month.....

Why does CNN keep runnig these terrorist target shows. I am sure most americans are aware of the dangers we face in our city's without being told. CNN however, seems to think we need to be. Tonight they were talking about a ship in boston harbor, our powergrid in the northeast, and something in RI that i did't stick around to watch. Not only are they brocasting idea's their telling how to do it. Are they on the terrorist's payroll, or are they just plain dumb..

p.s. for all the bush bashing commets i might get to this just do me a favor and keep it to yourself its not that i dont value your opinin its just that i dont care what you think about bush jus cnn
