It's tougher for those who have to use their cars for business like delivery drivers who are many times forced to use busy A roads which carries a high charge. Best off are those who drive in the rural areas and are charged much cheaper than those in the cities. Would help if motoring and fuel taxes were reduced to compensate for road charging. Government is trying to relieve congestion in the city.

Old Labour had a reputation for being High Spend/High Tax. Their only solution to congestion apears to be taxation. Great. So you charge people a lot of money to get to work, rather than pouring money into the public transport system. So you will drive people out of their cars and, because the bus/rail system will not be able to cope (Public transport is disgustingly expensive anyway).

Although there will be short term problems, I would not be suprized to see rapid wage re-negotion or changes in jobs. Can we say inflation? But since Labour placed the responsibility for controling inflation with the B of England that won't matter, other than a interest rate, but whats the diff. This will result in higher mortguage payments leading to loss of homes or increased poverty.

Nice one Blair. Thanks mate. Now why don't you look at a better solution rather than your knee jerk taxation reaction?

Rant over.
