i am from assam.i feel very bad when people identify assam with the ULFA.the people who call themselves the liberators of assam are the ones who has caused the most damage.everyday innocent people become their victims.they think that whatever they are doing is good for the state and refuse to believe that the people do not support their motive.i would like to know that as a student what can i do to make even a small difference.what can one do to make them realise that they do not have the support of the people.how can one stop them from killing innocent people in the name of freedom movement.for how long will the people of assam suffer discrimination in other parts of india due to organisations like ULFA who instead of doing any good has given a bad name to the state.we love india and do not want a separate country.how do we make the ULFA realise this truth who are bent on creating a separate country.why don't they just live and let live.

It was sad, but good grief, get over it, move on, get another cause, and shut the hell up about it. If I were a "Katrina victim" I'd be tired of hearing about it by now, I'd get tired of being reminded of it. Another thing, they were warned that they needed to get out, but they were too stubborn, stupid, or illiterate to heed the warnings. Now, they say LSU, Tulane, the Saints, and every other team from Louisiana is winning for the "Katrina victims" every time they win a freakin' game, it's getting tired and worn out, MOVE ON FOR GOD'S SAKE! Also, that BS where they attempted to blame the government and President Bush was crap. Spike Lee and his goons were preying on the ignorance of the black community in New Orleans and across the country, Lee knew that they were just ignorant and uneducated enough to believe that crap. Hell, they had people on rooftops shooting at rescuers; I would have let them all starve to death if that was their way of showing their gratitude for being rescued.

ACTIVISM
I live in the U.S. and it really irritates me to see all these petitions for saving Darfur being sent to George W. Bush. I'm not saying I support Bush or not, but why is it the U.S.'s responsibility to save Darfur? There are already so many problems that the U.S. has to deal with internally, like healthcare, social security, etc. Isn't saving Darfur a task for the U.N.? There are too many humanitarian problems in the world for the U.S. alone to concentrate on.

FUNDRAISING
There are tons of fundraisers for Darfur relief. I have never donated to any of them, not because I don't support Darfur relief, but because I can't see where my money is going, and I understand that corruption is rampant in most African governments. Should I feel guilty for not donating? I completely support Darfur relief, but I just don't feel like my contributions will actually go toward Darfur relief. Perhaps you can suggest a charity for me to donate to with confidence?

He was wrong about the weapons of mass destruction.
He was wrong about U.S. troops being greeted as liberators.
He was wrong about Iraqis taking control of their own security.
He was wrong about the intensity of sectarian strife.

As President Bush pleaded with Americans for another chance in Iraq Wednesday night, he was speaking to a nation that has largely given up on his wartime judgment, has lost faith in his ability to succeed and is likely to have grave reservations about his assertion that the quickest way to end the conflict is to escalate it.

As the war approaches the end of its fourth bloody year, Bush is choosing to ignore the recommendations of both his military commanders in the field and the advice of the bipartisan Iraq Study Group. So where did he get his hare-brained idea that more troops will solve the countless problems in Iraq that the US helped create?

Africa is the cradle of all humanity, and yet it is still one of the worst places in the world to be. From disease to political upheavals to genecide across the continent, strife abounds. I think healing the injustices in Africa would be a good first step to healing humanity. What can we do to improve the situation?

i'm sick of him being there personally...every move he seems to make just puts this country in more of a whole with something...
the day he was confronted by a reporter..

reporter: how do you feel the war in iraq is going president?
bush: bad.
reporter: do you think you could be more descriptive on that?
bush: the war in iraq is very bad.

I thought I was going to lose my mind that day. Some days I want to put him in camo give him a gun and throw him in Baghdad. I'm not sure why people vote for him to stay in government.

.Salam. I am an american female thru and thru who will be converting to Muslim. I'm engaged to a beautiful ,sweet, honest man from Pakistan. To those of you that think the Muslim women should not wear the veil.To those of that think it is just to get attention please read this. Qur'an says:
" O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers that they let down upon them their over-garments; this will be more proper, that they may be known and thus they will not be given trouble; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."(33:59)
Clothing is one point, which distinguishes between mankind and animals. It helps people become more familiar with cultural characteristics of an ethnic group, or with those belonging to a region. Variety of clothing has three considerations to cover the body, to embellish the appearance, and to represent an idea.
Islamic hijab being covering for women protects them from harassment. It isn't a sign of weakness it protects our rights as women.
