ACTIVISM
I live in the U.S. and it really irritates me to see all these petitions for saving Darfur being sent to George W. Bush. I'm not saying I support Bush or not, but why is it the U.S.'s responsibility to save Darfur? There are already so many problems that the U.S. has to deal with internally, like healthcare, social security, etc. Isn't saving Darfur a task for the U.N.? There are too many humanitarian problems in the world for the U.S. alone to concentrate on.

FUNDRAISING
There are tons of fundraisers for Darfur relief. I have never donated to any of them, not because I don't support Darfur relief, but because I can't see where my money is going, and I understand that corruption is rampant in most African governments. Should I feel guilty for not donating? I completely support Darfur relief, but I just don't feel like my contributions will actually go toward Darfur relief. Perhaps you can suggest a charity for me to donate to with confidence?

Oxfam. I am a huge supporter of Oxfam. I don't know if you ever heard of them..but give them a look up..I donate to Oxfam. Because I believe in their cause. I don't agree with your statement though....that's another explanation.
