Why do people keep saying Bin Laden has ties to the Bush family? Show me proof when answering.

The only proof anyone is going to give you is conspiracy-theorist web sites and crackpot blogs. (like "brrrrrr" just did)

It's just another blind accusation to slander someone they don't like.

Last week I heard Dick Cheney was snorting cocaine, dressing in women's clothes, and having illicit sex with David Beckham and Katie Couric.

I didn't believe that, either.

People make stuff up all the time to get others to agree with them and share their hatred with them.

People love a good conspiracy. I was discussing current events and 9-11 one day with an acquaintance. She was convinced that Bush knew about the attacks before hand and that bin Laden was in the country at the time. She thought the Bush administration helped get bin Laden out of the country (in fact, it was his family -- who haven't claimed the nut in years -- that were helped out of the country because they would have been in grave danger even though they had/have nothing to do with the attacks).
She refused to watch the news because it made her sad. And her only source of information on 9-11 was Michael Moore's "documentary."
God bless America, huh?
The United States does have ties to bin Laden in a round about way. In 1979, the Soviets invaded Afghanistan. Being in the midst of a cold war, the U.S. wanted to do everything it could to get the Soviets out of there. They aided the mujahideen rebels (remember Iran Contra? The U.S. has also aided Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war since Iran's Khomeini was seen as a threat at the time). (See wikipedia excerpt below) . . .

"Osama bin Laden was a prominent mujahideen organizer and financier; unsubstantiated claims have been made that his Maktab al-Khadamat (MAK) (Office of Order) funneled money, arms, and Muslim fighters from around the world into Afghanistan, with the assistance and support of the American, Pakistani, and Saudi governments, a claim which is vehemently denied by both governments stating they were only funding the local Afghan resistance fighters."

well thye do have ties, but the media spins in a way to make bush seem as hes allies with terrorist. Bush use to run an oil companie so naturally he had to deal with middle eastern countries and people the bin ladins being one of them. but that has nothing to do with his politics.

All I have heard is through the Saudi Arabi's. The Saudi Arabi's have billions in our economy and Bin Laden and them are close.

Discolser: I am in no way shape or form making any political assumption in my answer

Well, I don't have any proof. But isn't it possible there is something to the story? Either good or bad....? Bin was in America for a time, wasn't he?

What conspiracy theory is this one about?
